I have a Zephyr 360 (HDMI, large dies) which works great, I've added an external push fan, and replaced the thermal paste with AS Alumina, so it runs super cool, trouble is I don't have the original DVD drive for the unit, so I'm stuck buying games from XBL (expensive) and I only have the 60GB HDD so I have to delete stuff to download new games, kind of a PITA.

Is there a solution for this situation, I have a brand new BEN-Q drive (what this unit originally had) but no idea how to get it to load original game discs. Someone suggested the R-JTAG, but it's not super cheap and installation and setup looks challenging. Any suggestions.

The someone who suggested the rjtag is right. You have to rjtag it to get the dvdkey..A zephyr is one of the more difficult console's to glitch too..

You could probably buy another console. It would probably be cheaper then buying all the thing's you will need to glitch it.

You don't really need to have an R-Jtag just a coolrunner will do but it will take longer to glitch and you will also need something like nand-x to read/write the nands. Once you have it glitching for the first time it will show the CPU ID and the DVD Drive Key which is what you need to implant into that other BenQ dive, but then again you need either a compatible SATA card/motherboard or a Xecuter X360 USB PRO to inject that DVD Key. A bit of a cost upfront but you will then be able to flash many Xbox drives and install RGH on consoles.

Yeah but it's a zephyr so he might have better luck with the newest method...

Boot time doesn't really matter if he's intending to flash back to stock once he has the key. Original cool runners are pretty cheap now, rjtag not so much.

Not if he doesn't have the original drive to get key off of.

True it will most likely boot to xell. I just have had a hard time in the past with rghing a zephyr in general. Personally I would scrap that piece of crap zephyr and go buy a slim 360.

I have a spare CR sitting around for just this reason.

Coolrunner + Matrix flasher should run you like $20. If you can solder they're really not that hard to install. If it doesn't boot quickly then there's usually just one wire to play around with.
