That is so typical of microsoft.

They probably think of the shape of the controller as a system hallmark.

Just like how sony will probably never vary from the shape of the psx/ps2 pads.
    It's a recognizable image silhouette.

I think only nintendo has so greatly varied in controller designs.

I will never understand why system developers feel the need to design a new controller for each new generation. Sony is the only one that understands that you don't need to reinvent the wheel every time a new system comes out. If you have something that works (For the most part. You can't please everyone) it better to put the R&D into creating something new or improve something that does need it.

the thing is that this is a prototype, i remember the x-box prototype controllers looking very cheap and poor(though the final us controller was way too big and the buttons were placed oddly scrunched up, luckily they later used the japanese style). I imagine that the final look will be a lot better, still i wonder if they will improve teh dpad, the one on the s controller wasnt too bad but still wasnt quite precise enough to easily pull of moves in fighting games.

I wish they'd put a power button on the wireless pads..so you could turn your console on without having to walk over to it.

that's such a simple idea yet such a great one. I'm very surprised that nobody has ever thought of it. Quick SilverBolt Patent it before Sony say they were dreaming of it :D Seriously though, it is a very good idea.

It's true, the proto Xbox controllers (see my old posts) did have the same cheap and overtly shiny look to them, much like these white ones. Expect to see small refinements here and there before the final design is released.

Also, I think that circle in the middle may just be the indentation for where the jewel/logo is going to be. My proto Xbox 1 pads had a similar indentation.

From what I have heard and read, the system us going to be white, and the controllers white as well.

They're from ourcolony, which appears to be some obscure Microsoft marketting campaign.

Those cant be the final pads... they look like they've been vac-formed. Really shoddy finish and the face buttons are too small.

Well its kind of hard for it to be BS if it came from that colony website. As its an official MS site.

yeah but it's still technically a prototype. Maybe they are using logitech for now or something. I'm just saying BS because it looks so much alike and MS would be lame as hell for using that...since the design isnt new at all.
