Article on front page of xbox-scene.com has this:

something tells me there was a main ring leader [likely not xenon since he aparantly cant install encryption software] and maybe a few skiddies on the job.

 

I'm more surprised that they used Skype, a program that is known to be monitored 24/7.

Well. Hacking ingeneral is terrible and then to sell that info to other people.... It's just wrong

if so, why do we get mods and cracks for free? (even extra hardware, like hardmods or fpga's/ode's)
if hacking is so terrible, half the web (and many forums including this) would never exist!

not in dispute about this actual subject but it IRKS me when i see a neutral word getting banded around! (the swastika was once a glyph of peace, now it's associated to xenophobia/racial purity BY DEFAULT? WHY?!)
haven't paid attention to recent hack news, especially xbone/360 stuff, more of a retro head! (and NOT getting into a debate as to what these guys did, NOT why i chipped-in!)

 

A lot of good can come from hacking, but not from these guys. Seems they were thinking about making a profit from selling paypal information? Horrible. I think they crossed the line when they started trying to profit (1 million each? was that even a realistic amount?)

 

I think when you start hacking together your own fake XB1s and selling them for 5 grand, as well as (it wasn't mentioned, but I'd be surprised if they didn't do this) burning pre-release games on DVDs and then selling those, then you're definitely over the line. Hell for a little while Microsoft banned people who'd gotten XB1s legit before launch (when Target sent them out a couple weeks early), did you think you'd be able to get away selling fake XB1s on eBay of all places?

Also, why would you be stupid enough to go after the US military? They can make you not exist, for crying out loud.

 

I now finaly understand how they got the durango "pc". Dont know if i ever want to build it myself. (dont think about it anyway) but selling it, and the way they got things... No, just no. Its not how this world works. They got the right thing now, hope they learn to do something usefull after this.
