I wish I could learn Japanese. Then I wouldn't have to wait so long for poor translations of a limited number of games... :-(

 

Well recently more and more Japanese RPGs seem to be making it to American soil. I believe the newest Dragon Quest is coming out there. Heck even Magna Carta, from a Japanese translation to an English translation, is coming courtesy of Atlus. The newest incarnations of the once Japan only Shin Megami Tensei Series (and friends) have come and are coming to America.

Frankly I think it's because the graphics in such games now can 'wow' causal gamers more then their predecessors.

Indeed. YOu can see Lost Odyssey 43 minutes into the Xbox press conference. The world looks impressive. The characters don't... and there's no battles or anything in the video, so I won't judget it for now.
