Hi all i ripped apart a halo edition slim yesterday, And noticed it has a random little speaker attached to the board, unlike a normal slim that just has a beeper, Just wondered if there's any other differences any one can see or if its a nand difference to make the noise Thanks SP
The Halo 3 Slim Console makes other Sounds and need this Speaker. Simply push the power or the Eject button and compare it with this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOvd_9vEF3M (Retail Slim Console) EDIT: And here you have the Sound of your Halo 3 Slim Console: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDKi4AdzGUM&feature=related
I wonder if there is a way to get those reach sounds into a non reach NAND image without corrupting it. Somethings can be changed with no side effects without the CPU key, but others not so much. Adding that speaker would be easy, The beeper doesn't look to hard to remove. I haven't opened my Reach Console it's so staying in the box, never being played, on the same dash as it came out with the same 9504 drive. But it would be nice to know if we could add custom sounds to the consoles ECT. Hawk
I almost wonder if non-reach slims already have the sound and just need the speaker wired in edit: note I dont have a slim and don't know if regular slims already play different sounds
I dont know where it is exactly, but Im pretty sure Bungie posted the sounds on their website right around the launch of the slim halo edition
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WWQ5Q23K nand image from the slim if any one wants to work out the how the sounds work
I have an standard 250GB black one and it's exactly like that halo edition. The Serial number on the case matches that on the dashboard and it seems to never been opened. I bought it cheap from a guy because it had issues with disk reading (turned out his disc was bad) and the hard drive was fuxxored up. I downgraded the HDD to 120GB and it's what I've been using on live since my Xenon got GPU issues. :banghead: Edit: And also the poor thing was super beat up and all scratchy. I don't care about that as long it works so it's fine. Sure it's an odd XBOX360. I never understood why it was like that until I saw this thread.
It's on Major's blog: http://majornelson.com/2010/08/16/xbox-360-limited-edition-halo-reach-console-sounds/
my mate has a black console he looks after it but is scratched to fuck just from moving it from uni to home 2 times a week. my console still mint even though i opened it 2 times. the sticker is still untouched on the back m$ failed a bit there lol. i dont know why m$ used shiney black plastic its such a pain. on another note i got bored and changed the rf lights http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qRny3Qt-BY
I'm still curious why the hell my console has a HALO REACH EDITION motherboard and is piano black. And it's impossible that someone swapped the guts because the STICKER matches whatever is shown on the console's about screen.
