So its just pinging the live server? Hmm OK yea that makes sense since one would need to check that online isn't broken in that build.

testxex.xex is kinda neat, looks like a ton more network testing, logging, challenges etc , would be neat to have some of the other files and tools that were on the HDDs of these kits or host PC's to check some of this stuff out
    \\Device\\Harddisk0\\Partition1\\DEVKIT\\testxexhelper.xex
    CHALDEV:\\%d.%d.%d_%d.%d.%d.txt
    \\System??\\CHALDEV:
    \\Device\\Harddisk0\\Partition1\\DEVKIT\\Challenge

I'd love to take a look at this things src lol
    e:\\bt\\508445\\core\\private\\xam\\apps\\testxex\\src\\scriptengine.cpp
    e:\\bt\\508445\\core\\private\\xam\\apps\\testxex\\src\\testxex.cpp
    e:\\bt\\508445\\core\\private\\xam\\apps\\testxex\\src\\main.cpp

I think it can be entirely agreed that these were internal dash update building kits.

check out the file paths in the screenshot I grabbed from THIS VIDEO,, very similar to the ones from textxex.xex in my post above

Thanks Begal for doing so much research on this. Did anyone have anything else to add to this?

I have one other thing I'm going to try with these that should result in some more info about the extra features, but I have not had chance to mess with my kit to get it booted up to add and test the files.
With the help from oscar193's research and tool source along with some other files and info I have, I was able to build a shadowboot that should load these files and allow me to do some more poking around, at very least it should tell us if this "recovery" can be run on any kit or if there is something specific to those mobo's it requires to run or function.
