    - Debug kits can only read debug code by deafult

    - There is no FTP for the debug kit, you'll need the XBOX SDK easily found on the internet and launch XBOX neighbourhood on Windows XP.

That answers your two points :)

XDK5933 is floating around the internet. That's what you need.

You install it on your PC, you install nothing on the XDK.

It's easy to use, not sure if I'm allowed to share it here but it's easy to find.

It only runs in Windows XP, unless you run XP Mode in 7.

Install the SDK (internal) onto your Windows XP computer. The devkit has no changes made to it.
Once properly installed, you should have a new icon on your desktop caled "Xbox Neighborhood".
Open Xbox Neighborhood and add your XDK either by IP or name.
Once the box is added you can use Xbox Neighborhood to browse the XDK's HDD, launch .XBE's, take screenshots, etc.

A debug kit won't play retail games and shouldn't be made to. Heresy.

Hi, sorry to hijack the thread, but I'm pretty much in the same boat. If I try to install the SDK by right clicking and running compatability under XP SP2 do to think it will run? Haven't tried huting the SDK down yet, just planning ahead.

No, it wont run under 64 bit Windows 7 / 8, at least no one has shown me how to get it to actually work. I run it in a VM if I have to.

Hmm that sucks! Unfortunately I'm on Windows 8 64 bit so looks like I'm at the bottom of the barrel. :( I've seen a tutorial on how to get Windows 7 XP Mode running in a VM on Windows 8 without a licence but haven't got anywhere close to trying it yet. Don't really feel like digging my old XP machine out of the attic. :(
