Just got an email from "engage.xbox.com" that says I'm in the CoD:MW3 beta for another week, but I haven't been in it at all, nor have I applied for one. Anyone else got it? It came to my live.com account.
Xbox live doesnt need to be hacked for you to get phishing emails. I get emails all the time claiming my WoW account needs updating or something, yet I have never had one. Doesnt mean Blizzard was hacked
No, it hasn't been hacked - they probably grabbed it off some game-related site you've joined at some point and sent you a phishing email. Don't sweat it. You really think hacking XBL benefits *anybody* aside from the hackers and any arrogant script kiddies who get their jollies off holding other people's data illegally?
So what was the heinous crime that "Micro$oft" (ugh, I hate it when people type that or "M$", why? Because they like money? Yeah, just like every other company ever) committed that would justify XBL getting hacked? I'm guessing charging money for it, but IMO $50/year for a service that runs as well as XBL is well worth it.
Hmm... I didn't mean it like that. What I hate about MS (yes, M$) is how they launched a console, that was not correctly tested. By that, I mean the RRoD. I went through three Xbox 360's. The first one, Red Ringed (did not know what a BGA was back then and that it could be re-flowed). It cost me, $639.99 from Kmart... Bought another for $399.00 from EB Games. X/HAHA chip went (E74). Again, I did not know how to re-flow or re-ball a BGA IC. Third one, is still going (because of the 'improved' design on the system). I have also had several games crack on me, because of there cases. They always crack from the center. The heat and high disc speeds (before you could install to the HDD) did not help either. If it was hacked, all I would want is a refund of that money in points and live. So I would take back what they stole from me basically... I didn't mean hack as in, the PSN and steal credit card details. Thats bullshit. I meant hack for live and points.
@Haunted360, I think its my own fault on wanting the first wave of xboxes. Xenon RROD just 3 month ago and I now know how to do a reflow. check this, I now also understand how difficult it maybe is to find trustworthy manufactures and suppliers can be http://www.bunniestudios.com/blog/?p=918 I wanted to say more, but basically I think Bunnie Huang is explaining what I mean between the lines what i mean. And no stealing of MSpoints of MS services for me, they do their best to keep it save and cheat free. I pay for it, just like my ISP or TV connection. and sometimes, ill xboxconnect with my xbox one. its a same ms stopped xbox oe live, hopefully we or them, or together can fix something, sometime. ;-) stay happy with what you got, and fix what you want. in the end we all end up in videogame heaven.
And Microsoft banned a few thousands for that last month. Marketplace theft. NOT COOL AT ALL... (stealing merchandise I mean)
You typically don't sling something that cost $700. What the hell did you do with it? Surely you heard that within 3 years of launch MS offered the RROD 3 years warranty and surely you'd also be within your 3 year warranty.
