    It's easy. The power and eject switches on the original Xbox are just tact switches - there are some yellow wires coming out of the front panel where the power/eject buttons are and they go to a 10 pin connector with 9 pins populated
    Code:
                   ---------
    N/C ---------> | 9  10 | <------- No Pin
    Right Red----> | 7   8 | <---Right Green
    Left Green---> | 5   6 | <------Left Red
    GND ---------> | 3   4 | <-------- Eject
    GND ---------> | 1   2 | <-------- Power
                   ---------

    So you just need a normally open switch and connect one side to ground (pins 1 or 3) and the other to the power switch line (pin 2)

    No, power is the power switch, so pin 2 is the one you need to connect the power switch to. You can test it just by shorting it to one of the gnd pins (1 or 3)

    The power LEDs also connect to ground, so if you want a power indicator then you can take either of the green LED wires and connect that to the LED positive. The negative side of the LED should go to ground

    Something like this:

    Code:

              | O--------------------- To pin 2
              |
    Power SW O| ------------ To pin 5 (cut existing wire to control panel)
              |            |
              | O--|      ---
                   |      \ / <- Power LED
                   |      ---
                   |       |
                   |------------------ To GND (pin 1 or 3)

    to make it clear for my self
    the power button has 4 pins 2 for led 2 for on/off <positive and negative>
    led pin negative to ground 1, led pin positive to power 2
    and the pins of the on off ? where do they go to to ground 1 and to no pin 10

    No, the power switch needs to go between ground (pin 1 or 3) and pin 2

    Position 10 ("no pin") on the socket doesn't do anything, and has no pin installed

    The led has to be wired with the negative end to ground (pin 1 or 3) and the positive end to one of the "green LED" pins (5 or 8)
