You need a step up convertor or you can replace the actual power supply inside the XBox and not just the wire. Your TV may have issues displaying the content anyway until you modify it. Using the US power on a Euro power supply risks doing permanent damage to the Xbox.

If you tried plugging that xbox in with an american cord straight into the power socket you my have ruined the console.
You need to open the console and swap its psu with an american one or you need a power converter to be able to use it how it currently is.

You can find them on ebay pretty cheap or radio shack sells them too. Its just a plug that converts 220 to 110.

    Removed link. Wrong link.

You need a step-up power converter, something like this: http://www.amazon.com/VCT-VT-100UK-Converter-Transformer-Products/dp/B000N54DGO
Cant vouch for brands since Ive never bothered buying one for myself, Ive got enough spare part xbox units to be able to change the internal PSU to an american one. I never saw the need for one myself.

You've got it backwards, He needs to bring his standard 110 up to the UK standard of 220. But I'm sure it was just a typing error, you know ur stuff lol

That listing is to use American products while in the UK, he needs to use a UK product in the US.

The converter is listed for 50 watt, that's too low. I think the required wattage for the original XBOX is around 100 watt. Remember the original XBOX was a mini PC computer, the Intel CPU alone suck 25 watts, you then have the DVD and hard drives, and rest of components.

My bad, thanks for pointing that out totally missed that! Honesty I think the first product I linked from amazon would be the best bet. I don't think you can go much cheaper than its price and get one that will work.

I would open the system up and see what model system you have and then buy a replacement power supply for the system. Back when I was doing lots of repairs on xbox consoles I used to keep on hand multiples of the universal power supplies. They worked for the 1.0->1.6 version systems.

Here is a seller that has one like I used to buy all the time.

Please don't post the same thing all over the forum. I know your posts were auto-moderated and hence didn't show up immediately, but you got a message telling you that. If your posts don't show up, wait for a moderator to approve them instead of reposting.

ToxicMedz, use the edit or multi-quote button rather than double posting.

    Thanks guys!

Don't know this will work but good price and good reviews might be might be safer then the other one on amazon and watt is higher 500 http://www.amazon.com/TriGear-500W-...78&sr=8-3&keywords=step+up+convertor+500+watt

Are you that desperate to use the same XBOX? I just get one that's at the suitable voltage if you're THAT worried about swapping a PSU over, or using a step down.
