I wouldn't consider my curiosity trolling. I am just going by what I've seen and stating my own opinions here. I haven't posted any spam, pictures or links that would constitute as trolling. Also any reason you decided to pull your Microsoft xenon paperwork photos? You don't work for Microsoft do you? =O For one. This site has a great forum with great wealth of community information. Why hesitate to ask? I simply responded to a question and gave good reason as to why the software isn't out there. Call it what you want. so it doesn't come up again....er be butt hurt by me saying you had the software and decided to stray away from answers, and someone wonders why its not around. I'm simply identifying the fact you had the ability, and chose not to disclose. (your choice regardless). Second, Obviously someone on this forum other than you may have these units if you are no longer in possession of them. (never know?) Id love to have a nice PM regarding any questions on your previous experience with your units but i get the vibe you do NOT seem interested in sharing such information. I've tried in the past but you did not seem open to converse. Guess you weren't feeling up to answering any questions as usual. I can understand you not having them anymore. not being able to take a look... etc. I can completely agree with the previous poster, the amount of money paid, rare, collection. etc. We have franken alphas, why not the G5's? Pirate or not. which i never claimed you to be. found it hard to believe you never cloned the drive or made a safe backup either if it was something rare. I LOL'd when you said you were not a collector. made me wonder if you worked for Microsoft with that kind of deniability it seems possible.
Gonna necro this post. Wondering where syclopse got that output. I've tried executing xboxroma and it hangs like his third kit. But my open firmware is older than either of his 3 kits. Weird, maybe there's some debug output or crash dump for open firmware ? Anyone know?
If I recall correctly as it's been years, the output was from a text log file I was able to view using data recovery on a drive. I finally gave up on booting that unit, (January 12, 2005) and it's now my foot rest.
hmmm, makes me wonder if my kit might have dumped since attempting to execute, something to look into i guess
Did you happen to find anything else interesting when attempting to recover data? The kit I have here was used in the production of perfect dark zero
Nope but this was an interesting read for new users of open firmware. http://mac.linux.be/content/guide-open-firmware-apple-bios-0
@Syclopse Would you be willing to let your buyer know that there are a few people interested in purchasing either one of the two units as a collective, and if they would make arrangements to contact one of use for a possible quote. of course if the person would want to remain anonymous that could be part of the deal. Just a thought, if you still knew the person or if they are a member here on AG maybe at some point the person could reach back out to us on at least the status of the units?
