didnt they show some shit like this months ago? These don't look that great actually, and could probaby look like that on the xbox now if EA gave a damn. Oh well, point is, these stills wont matter if they cant make the players look this good with 22 players on the field and a good stadium with full sidelines

I can't see them thanks to the stupid blocker in work. The odd thing is that I can see ASSEMbler but not any other games site such as NTSC-UK, Dreamcasthistory, DCS and even my own site. Very strange indeed. I'll just have to wait till I get home. I'm bloody curious now

Looks probably good, though I doubt it's real time, but it's the same old shit all over again, I found Madden boring from day one on the Megadrive. Plus I'm not into sport at all so that doesn't help...

But I can't wait to see what else these machine will be able to do, but stop the boring games, please Nintendo save us from EA.

I agree with you there sabre470. I hate most sports titles. Can't see what all the fuss is about. I'd rather play the game for real.

You seem to be missing the point. Who cares what type of game it is. It's only showing the power of the new Xbox. Nothing to do with the game, even less to do with it's gameplay.

I'd play Pong if it looked that good.

And it's pretty small minded to say "I hate most sports titles". I can only assume you have few friends (J/k)
There's nothing like a few beers, and lining up Fifa, Pro Evo, Virtua Tennis, Project Gotham... It's where these games really blossom.

 

No we are not missing the point, the fact is the first thing they show us is Madden ... again ... , sure it looks good and the machine looks promising but if it's to play Madden again... What you see is what you will get, more big franchises, with pointless updates every year to play football again...

The only value you will get out of these new systems is more sophisticated graphics which is to me not a selling point anymore.

Be careful when you say small minded to somebody, I mean Yakumo was just expressing his dislike of Sport games and I agree with him, I hate them too, he didn't say it's fxxxxxg shite. I can understand people who like sports game but it's not our cup of tea.

I, for example, love soccer games, especially those by Konami (ever since International SuperStar Soccer Deluxe, back in 94!), own NFL2K2 and Virtua Tennis for the Dreamcast, and Tecmo Super Bowl for the NES and SNes.

If a sports game can feel "epic", and the gameplay is just right, why not play it?

 

I did like football games, until EA bought up the rights to everything. I never liked EA's shit, but it was always easy to get an alternative.
