You don't need the extra RAM. All you need is a debug enabled BIOS and the XDK files on your C and E drive. If you aren't using a BIOS that can do both and flashing to an available chip or TSOP bank is not an option, you can use a BFM BIOS and PBL. Tutorial here: http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/debug-xdk.php
just curious, can a debug enabled BIOS see the extra ram or is the game/program the one responsible for seeing more ram? (like XBMC)
I think, as far as BIOSes go, 128mb RAM hacks are more or less a standard feature. There is an xbe flag to use 128mb of RAM, and you also need the software to set the memory mode to writeback if you actually want to use it.
I remember running XDK dash when I softmodded my xbox back in the day, I only installed a modchip because i "broke" another friends xbox by softmodding fail. So I bought another modchip just for myself. also: "What you'll need: * A modded XBox (either chipped or soft-modded with your preferred exploit)" Just try reading tutorials first, I learned alott about psp pandora batteries just by reading reading and watching video's. in the end, I knew probebly more than the first few youtube video vloggers. anyway, xboxes uses signing keys, using the font exploit one can run xbe's with a know key, thats how phoenix is loaded, wich in turn uses a feature of kernel loading from "another media" like harddrive, or dvd. So that just loads the debug kernel. theres sure more details, but modchips make it easier for bigger harddrives, loading diferent kernels and some awesome lcd fun. earlier days it also kept your retail dashboard intact for XBox live, but thats gone now, so happy softmodding
This is more acurate Hex, and yes, one can take screenshots, because you run the same kernel(bios also called here, while actualy, there is no Bios at all) You dont have the more memory (wich we can fix) your xbox is softmodded, so it can break by removing the wrong files (a debug has its kernel on flash and is allowed a recovery disk, your softmod xbox will break) Your eprom is replaced "virtualy", wich means, you cannot easiely edit/view it. dunno, but could also make upgrading the HDD a bit troubled.
So, well, will this work without hardware RAM update or not? https://www.assemblergames.com/foru...-s-Scariest-Police-Chases-2-(Unreleased-Xbox) my result: https://youtu.be/FXbZk6loXpI upd: debug launcher method, that installed on my xbox (youtube video) is very different to this method: http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/debug-xdk.php That's why i've posted this question. Sorry for bothering and misunderstanding.
