That's right. I was able to run Baten Kaitos Origins (US) and Adventure Island (J) in progressive mode on a PAL Xeno Gamecube.

One thing that I found interesting was that wode flow asked me if i wanted to run Fire Emblem (PAL) in progressive scan when i was holding the B button instead of the usual 50 60 hz selection screen.

The Wii will do 480p output for GameCube games and costs about the same as a Cube+Component cables. Supposedly the picture quality differs but as it was pointed out by the individual who created the thread here and posted the pictures you apparently have to see it in action to be able to really notice the difference.

 

That's not what I saw on the PAL version of Mario Kart Double Dash... :thumbsup:

Also, it seems like Game Cube games that support 60hz will ask if you want to switch to 60 hz if you hold down the B button as they load from boot up.

I am positive that the modchip can "trojan" the system and change stuff on the RAM making the game think it's running on a NTSC system, which would explain it show options for progressive mode with the chip enabled.

I just picked one up on ebay auction style for a mere £30. Seems the BINs currently on there are vastly inflated.
