Hi guys, for some reason Xplorer360 does not inject folders. I've tried manually doing it, drag and dropping, none works. The drive is formatted as FATX, so it definitely works on the XBOX. I set it to inject the softmod files, but it continually just says "Injecting Folders..." and the bar doesn't go up. I use Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. I've even tried Action Replay but I can't do it due to being on 64 bit. XPort doesn't work either, I can't install the drivers. I lost my 32 bit disc, so I have no other option. Thanks guys!

You should be able to change the compatibility to Windows XP. I'm sure the Xplorer 360 can create folders, so you'll be able to copy the softmod files over. Just not the folders.

See how that goes. If not, try setting up a Virtual Machine and install Windows XP on it. It might help.

When I did it I had to create the folders and drag file after file and make sure it matched the original directory.

Nope, manually copying doesn't work. Same as last time. Changing compatibility doesn't help, neither running as admin. I don't have a XP disc, no-one I know does, and I don't like piracy. Any other fixes?

Buy a copy of Windows XP?

Piracy is when you run a cracked version, it's fine to download an ISO and use the 30-day trial.

I honestly don't know, I don't get the issue you're having. You're going to have to debug this yourself. Try many different USB sticks, different USB ports etc.

It works fine for me on Windows 7 64-bit, it could even be your processor type, confliction with drivers. Number of things. You might just have to get an XBOX readily modified.

Why not just FTP? Probably the easiest method.

And if you're building a MAME box from a modded Xbox it's also the most convenient. You can disable the DVD drive and just run an ethernet port to the outside of the machine.

For softmodding I faced this same issue. I finally just broke down and bought a memory card with the files on it from a member here. Once I got my machine modded it was a cakewalk to do other junk on it. I run all my networked junk through a router so setting up a FTP system was easy. I was having issues at first but that was due to the Xbox network port being set up wrong. Thankfully I backed up all my save files and the softmod files to several locations when the dashboard decided to take a dump. Now I gotta start over again with the original HDD that has the alternate dash and copy it all over to the current drive that crapped out. I don't think my dash install was working right to begin with. Selecting "load disk in DVD drive" would lead to the MS online dash the day or 2 before finally corrupting. (Whaaa???) I liked Unleash X but if I get this same shit again I'll just go to XBMC...

Virtual Machine, or VMWare, already mentioned ;)

If you ever have any issues with softmodding, the best thing to do is to setup again through hotswapping and XBOXHDM+NDURE (I should make an up-to-date tutorial on that too), and choose option 1 which is rebuilding the C partition. You'll get all your dashes back easily. UnleashX had NOTHING to do with this error. It's simply a rename issue you're having, if games don't load from the Launch DVD option, it's the DVD-ROM not reading the disc correctly (this happens to my system I repair). To use other dashboards FTP them in your E:\Apps. Use them from there, no need to boot directly to it as if it's named wrong the softmod will fail. I'd advise many who are new to the XBOX and softmod is to use ShadowC, many come to me about the problem of a bad softmod as they've gone playing around in an area they shouldn't be. TSOP, or Modchip is more failsafe, only if you have the soldering skills.

@hl718 Doesn't FTP requires for the console to be hacked first or is it possible i can do it without modding it?

If you're asking about installing emulators, the assumption is that you've already hacked your console.

Emulators, require a form of modification. Softmod, modchip or TSOP, it's all unsigned code.

Hey, just thought I'd update this thread since I was having the EXACT same problem & couldn't find a solution here. Hopefully my solution will help the next straggler. I actually stumbled upon this solution by playing around with things, here's what I did:

    I'm using Windows 8.1 btw
    1. Run Xplorer360 in Windows XP compatibility mode SP3(running in compat. mode is a MUST, otherwise it didn't even detect the drive)
    2. It wouldn't let me drag & drop, so I had to manually do it. IT WON'T WORK IF YOU SIMPLY ATTEMPT TO INJECT THE FOLDERS WHILE THE MAIN DRIVE IS SELECTED, so what you have to do is create a new folder under the main drive by clicking 'Add New Folder'
    3. Once this new folder is created, click on the folder and attempt to inject the target folders into this new one instead. What's going to happen is the folders will be injected into the parent directory, which is the root of the drive--where we want them.

Don't know why that works, but it does. Mod on!

Just wanted to confirm that this works. I had the same problem, but thanks to your post, I have successfully transfered the softmod files to my flash drive.
