Well actually it does, its just that some that were released had compatibily issues with later 4mb games, but theres an easy solder method that fixes that. However in japan since saturn was so popular and the fact that they didnt need convertes since their systems played their native games, they could easily use the cartridge slot for 4mb ram or 1mb ram. However the reason its prized on ebay is the fact that its all in one so a person does not have to solder a region switch in to play imports that use 4 or 1 mb ram cart, still if you want one you can get a brand new that doesnt require the solder mod at jandaman.com thats where i got mine and works great, most you will pay is about $25-27 with shipping included. Cant remember but it is pretty cheap shipping and arrives fast.

dj898, I remember seeing that in the early days of the Mega Drive. The whiteish text at the bottom of the box says Denwa De Game which basically means game by phone. So it's some sort of online vs game I guess. Probably Mahjong or something. Never actually seen the real item, only pictures. I may bid on this if it's cheap.

Well it's at 2000 odd yen at the moment so if it says as nice price I'll get it but I doubt it. It will use the Mega Modem which I don't have :p but maybe it's playable without it.

Its the modem cart that comes with the modem set, that's all. No game on it sadly, it is purely a hardware cart! Also you will need the modem to get any use out of it.

In fact unless I am mistaken, the modem on its own is completely useless. You need to have a modem hardware cart in the md at the same time, the hardware cart determining what you can utilise the modem for ie the cart above for general modem related use, the mega answer to use your md as an answerphone, the pro yakyu van to get baseball scores, nagoya for banking. In fact I believe those 4 carts are the only modem hardware carts per se.

There is the sega channel cart too, which is a modem and a cart in one, ie the modem is in the cart that goes in the cart slot, as opposed to a separate modem and software cart situation.

Edit..also 2000yen for just the cart is already too much! You can pick up the full modem set, ie modem, cart, cables, for £30 so 6kyen give or take. And that would be for a nice minty one too.
