Damn, I wonder if the original instruction cards drove up the price on that Splatterhouse board.

The one I'm interested in and hope someone who is a member here wins is this one; http://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/u131636659

The reason being is because that tool kit has both PCI-815VE and SN Systems DVDEMU installed. If you look close enough you can tell just by looking where the ethernet is placed and if you look at the 2nd PCI slot there is a small metal plate hiding the serial port. So what this tells me is that there is a newer version of ps2dvdem rpm package being used. Hopefully they didn't just recompiled the software to support the newer 2.2.14-5.0 kernel and nothing else was done to it. but rather they improved/updated it with compatibility and bug fixes with new features added too. However this is just me being optimistic and going by what most software developers do.

Also I'm intrigued by the idea of something being stored on that dvdemu hard drive perhaps an unfinished game or a beta of some sort. Hopefully it's not like one of my tool kits with pci-586-mal and the dvdemu installed. As it did not contain no volume according to DVD Emulator Monitor software provided by Unclejun it did not recognize it. However when I had analyzed the hard drive image (dd) with a hex editor I could read the whole 378 megabytes give or take of data it says it's an elf file titled on the very top Colin McRae Rally 3. It's unfortunate as I do not know if it is a beta or debug version to test the basic game engine functions. If any one is willing to look into it for research purposes I backed it up with clonezilla and would be more than happy to share it just pm me and I'll upload it on mediafire. I'll give you a raw image (dd) instead of a clonezilla image. So that way you can clone it or look into the file with a hex editor.

I just hope when the auction is over the lucky person who buys it reads this comment and dumps both hard drives with clonezilla or dd with linux. So he or she can upload them on this forum thus allowing us to discover valuable data and preserve history rather than it going to someone who is unwilling to open it up, dump the hard drives through PXE, lacks the knowledge on how to utilize this device to even contribute here, or worst doesn't even know this site exists. However I'm being too pessimistic and am worried it will go to someone who buys it just to say hey look what I own while once in awhile turning it on just to play a ps2 game. It's unlikely it'll go to someone like sliverbull, or sp193, or unclejun who has extensive knowledge on how to effectively utilize it or even program for it.

Maybe if I could sell something I will win this though that all depends how much it ends up going for because as of now I seriously lack the funds not to mention I already own five of these units which in itself is ridiculous and silly. Though I'm still debating on selling one or two. but fear it'll get damaged while traveling to it's detestation as I've had one that ended up being severely dismantled while being shipped from Japan to America despite paying for protective packaging. but to be honest I'd rather give it to a programmer who would actually use it to develop homebrew. For an example on psxdev website the only way you can purchase a dtl-h2000 PlayStation 1 development kit is to prove you can create software or by winning one as a prize like lameguy64 did through a homebrew competition held awhile back.

It's a conversion/bootleg from the PS2 Sega Ages remake by M2. The game was (more or less) written around/in a System 16 emulator.

Arcade Hyper Duel PCB closed for ~$970 USD:

There's also another Sailor Moon Arcade PCB about to close for $1000 USD... PCB prices seem out of control lately.

Crazy that the Sailor Moon went for that much. That's probably a board you'd get a better price on if it were sold on ebay, thought I can't say for sure. I think Nemesis is one game with a big price disparity - a few hundred on ebay/western forums, and, if memory serves, pushing $1k on Yahoo (perhaps in part due to the crazy high pricing of ROM version Gradius boards).
