Wow, wouldn't get much change from two months worth of working if you bought that ! A lovely item but still, way too much for me :(

Impressive, I never thought that it would end up so expensive (not more than 200-300k yens).

Perhaps Mundo bought it (just teasing).

In all honesty I'd figured £2000-£3000, so its in the middle of my estimate. If only I'd done my selling. Nevermind, 19 others out there (hopefully).

In that case it had possibly finished to 1-2 million xD (a possible new most expensive game pack of history).

I don't want to think as much as it could arrive in ebay with a good publicity. Although I understand that price since it is an article that can take many years in appearing on yahoo.

    I put in a bid of 500,000. I can't believe I lost. I am so devastated.

I don't like Yahoo's new system, where if the top bid is cancelled, the 2nd place winner has the option to win at his maximum bid price. Fucked up. Invites collusion.

Been like that on Ebay for years hasn't it? Didn't know it was (previously) different on yahoo, you live and learn. I NEVER accept 2nd chance offers for that very reason. Although in the case of this E0 auction 502k yen is only two 1k bids above 500k, so meh 1k yen extra lol.

But its a shitty way to do things in general. When you're right you're right. ;) In an ideal world they should of course treat the auction as if that person hadn't ever bid. Is that how it used to be?

Although taken to the opposite extreme..what if only two people had bid on it? Say a very early bidding war that then put off all other bidders. If the winner doesnt pay up, and all his bids are cancelled, would it be right on the seller to have it go for what is effectively the only bid?

On eBay you have the option to OFFER it to the 2nd bidder, if the first one failed. Going by the description of what yahoo does now it seems that they automatically go to the 2nd bidder?

The seller still has the option to offer it to the 2nd place bidder, but now it doesn't go down to the 3rd place bid + 1 increment. It seems it just goes to their max bid. A seller on YJ has a bad habit of bidding on his own items to see how high the other person went.
