    That's Saturn Music School. It's one of those items that you can often find for next to nothing in Japanese shops (well, 1500-3000Yen) but since it's so damn bulky, nobody cares about it. An interesting item nonetheless and one of the freakiest pieces of Saturn hardware.

    As you can see it comes with an entire keyboard! I own the regular release which was in a RAM-box style cardboard case and included a Saturn->MIDI cable to connect your own Keyboard - I suppose. I'd have to check. The software itself is pretty similar to what Miracle was for the NES. There was also a sequel, but not another keyboard - the successor was sold only as a "game + MIDI adaptor" version.

    I have both. The 2nd release is far better and even includes some Japanese pop songs of the time and even a bit of YMO :nod: there's also some game elements in there.

    Fuck yeah, I won it!! :Rock:

    Been trying to track this fucker down for quite a while. Even in Japan where I saw several copies, I couldn't find a single one that wasn't sunfaded to death! They must have used the worst pink ink of all Japan, all boxes I've ever seen (apart from that one on Satakore.com) have plain white covers - almost no pink left! o_O

    And 4000yen is a bargain considering all the other items. And Game Basic is a double, so... but it's damn heavy as well, let alone the Music School box. Oh dear, shipping's gonna ruin me :thumbsup:

    and the only reason you won it was because I was too busy playing Enslaved on the 360. I forgot all about the auction. I remembered 30 minutes after it had ended. You are indeed a lucky fellow because if i had remembered that would be on its way to my house today :crying: oh well, at least it's going to a good home.

    Congrats!

    If you don't need them, maybe Tatsujin would buy the System Cards from you. ^_^

    Heheh, I'd already begun wondering how much you had bid after I saw your nickname popping up. So close to the ultimate goal I'd guessed it would be something 10k and up so I bid as much as I could with my current bid deposit... 7000yen, praying to God it would work out.

    Well, if I stumble over another set I will let you know :)

    @juste
    Thx, and of course Tatsujin can have them for free if he meets my middleman in the meantime. :033:

    Yes, please. Let me know if you hear of any others. I didn't even know it existed. I was going to bid up to 10,000 yen as you say then sell everything apart from the keyboard since that's all I really wanted. Let us know what you think of it when it arrives. I've use Saturn Music School 1 and 2 with a big Yamaha midi synthesizer which was really cool but a little too big for everyday practical use when you have a small boy around.

    The guy on the box is Ken Shiro from Hokuto No Ken or Fist of the Northstar to give it the English name.
