it's just a case of the XBOX having better upscaling thanks to its hardware, so it can feed your stupid TV 720p or 1080i/p (which your TV can eat just fine then), and the Wii's maximum possible resolution being something along the "lines" of 480p, which your HD/HDready TV will just make complete vomit out of, especially if you were cheap and didn't invest in one with a good upscaler. It is a well documented fact of life that HDTVs of the LCD variety can't handle SD resolutions. The Wii falls victim of its display resolution which is limited by its own hardware but be confident that it looks best out of the three on my EDTV WEGA CRT. It even rhymes. I think that pretty much ends this discussion GoH
The game machines have always had better scaling capabilities than the TVs though. Look at a PS2 240p game compared to a 480i one on an LCD (2D only really works here). It's argued that most PS2 games run interlaced b/c most of the PS2 client base had new TVs. I couldn't say either way between my Wii & 360 on my Arcade monitor. I'd lean towards the 360 but I've only played about 2 games on that monitor w/ either system. And the Xbox is just throwing 320x240 screen upscaled to 720p. Nobody said your TV couldn't handle it... just that it looks like a corn-riddled turd.
This isn't worht arguing about. Esp if we're all going to be uptight asses about it. But I'm standing by my thinking that the 360 and PS3 versions of MM9 are at a higher resolution than the wii version. Due to the fact both versions are twice as large as the Wii download...why else would that be unless there was more video data and larger video Data. We all know HD movies take up more space than SD movies the same could be said for a game no? Any other argument I just won't bother with it's not worth it.
Show me a screenshot of 360/PS3 MM9 that's not 640px × 560px and I'm gonna believe you. If you can't (and you won't), will you accept that it's an upscaled lowres game?
I don't even know how I'd go about getting said screen shot. But none of you have gone out of your way to explain why the 360 and PS3 downloads are larger than the Wii Downloads either. But I'm going to for once not be an ass and drop the subject.
Never seen the Wii one, and made no clames about it. We only said that the 360/Ps3 version are upscaled.
Like I said this really isn't worth arguing about. I like a good argument but...I'm getting argued out.
I'd assume the Xbox and PS3 versions are actually 720p. The game data is just probably losslessly scaled during development 3x instead of 2x for 480p.
It's not an NES game upscaled - Capcom's statements about MM9 were that it was completly redrawn. Redrawn in 8bit yes, but redrawn. All the sprites are larger on the other consoles besides the Wii.
I dunno about that, but the voice isn't the thing in question. It's the concept of Clownman vs Sheepman.
Thought I'd just note since it hasn't been mentioned here. It's been confirmed to be on all three systems again. I'll probably end up getting it on the wii again though. I tried it on a PS3, nearly killed myself trying to try it on 360, and then with a classic controller on the wii and that just worked out the best.
Yeah I'm all over this day 1 on 360. and they unveiled another boss Commando man... Sadly he seems like a clone of Grenade Man and not a Robot that forgot his pants
Am I the only person who actually doesn't like the Megaman games? I found them annoying with the stupid bloody respawn they all suffer from.
