Yoda and Vader confirmed for Soul Calibur IV

Yeah, Vader and Yoda just don't seem to fit in with the overall feel of the game. Are we going to see Voldo launch Yoda up in the air and spin him on his blades? Seems like a good joke, or maybe a secret character or level to play for some fun, but that's about it.

If not mentioned already just to let everyone know that the PS3 version gets vader while the xbox versions gets yoda so its going with a similer style to SC2

 

Is this confirmed? Fuck Yoda! I want Vader on the 360.

This is just a move by Namco to get some Star Wars fans to get the game. The characters added in SC2 had at least some kind of middle ages feeling (Heihachi was a bit out of place here, but well...), but this time they take these alien characters from a universe set in the future which only have in common with the rest that they use a blade weapon.

I wouldn't mind getting a SW fighter as I miss using Chewbacca in Star Wars: Masters of Teräs Käsi (awful game, but I found some kind of strange pleasure playing it).

 

This is terrible. Didn't they manage not to fuckup Soul Calibur 3 other than by being PS exclusive? Why'd they have to go back to this crap. I like Darth Vader and all, but it destroys the mood of the game. They should have had and in this should have an option to disable them from all game modes.

 

it's kind of hard to imagine that Vader or Yoda are after the Soul Edge..when they have the Force and Lightsabers

 

As long as every Vader match starts with him saying, "Where's Padme? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" I'm fine with him being in the game. I wonder if he'll have an alternate costume with his helmet off so we can see Haden Christensen get hit in the face by a sword.

oh wow... i've never seen that before. that's terrible. the color choice is awful. i would have gone for more of a bright pink. and that pisstachio color is painful to look at.

omg, i just watched the trailer with Yoda and Darth Vader on IGN and I have to say it is quite silly. Having them in the game is just plain silly the more I think about it...

*cue Darth Vader breathing*

I don't know... There's just something about Darth Vader, holding a Light Saber, standing across from a samurai warrior, and having the weapons clash just doesn't make sense to me...

 

Namco seems to be really getting into the nickel and dime downloadable content BS so I'm betting that some other SW character (or for that matter a popular but conveniently left out SC character) will show up shortly after launch for a small fee.

 

well , ever thought that the light-saber might have a thin solid wire running thru it that lights up like a lamp?

 

light saber would cut off every opponent sword, dagger, arms, legs and whatever.. LOL

what would have been great is if Vader and Mitsurugi lunged at each other and instead of having their swords clash, the lightsaber slowly melts the sword and Vader falls forward and cuts Mitsurugi's face in half. now THAT would be awesome!
