I'm Ok with dubstep if it along the original lines like Skrillex. And I don't want to pull "the brony trump card" out but I have noticed quite a few of the brony composers make some decent steps. I for one like the dirty rough bass drop they use.
dubstep was a gimmick that went too far like autotune. now that it is infecting everything including commercials.
After reading all the posts i see most of you dont like dubstep i think the chance of someone liking dubstep is based on there subwoofer, I have a pretty decent sub its logitech z906 so its easy to get into it more.
Damn, how dare those corporate bigwigs take something popular and attract people to their brands with it.
Whats good about dubstep is that it opened up electronic dance music for complex time signatures instead of the normal 4/4 sigs this is what made rock and roll so popular and like rock their is also derivatives now like DrumStep which is a mix of Dupstep and Drum an Bass . Too the average listener that only knows about the Mass Media artists for instance skrillex it will turn them off because they know nothing about the actually talented unique producers. also alot of people have weak stereo systems and let me tell you. It you have not gone too a rave party or a club and heard it on some really great speakers and not some squeakers your missing out TRUST me. Another thing is if you Produce the music yourself and know the artists it gives you the feeling of what the music was made for their is a reason its called electronic dance music lol. Also i have been going too raves since i was 11 I was at Ultra World when Diesel boy dropped The diesel boy supreme mix it totally changed my life. Why do so many hate dubstep? I like it over rap since that is basically fast paced bass drums and lyrics. At least that's what most rap I've heard is... Dubstep takes the bassline beats and varies it for cooler sounds.
because it sucks. it has it's place as part of a musical arrangement but rarely works well in its own right as a complete musical arrangement.
British HC Break Beat FTW!!! Any incarnations of that which came after sucked more and more with every further step.
