Lately i've been busy trying to create a webpage...

Well, this webpage is on the road to get in an advanced stage, nowhere close to being final or so, but enough to get some impressions. I'd like to hear from you if this idea could ever work, how to make it well known on the net and how to improve it in any and all ways.

    The webpage is here: http://snesreview.net84.net/

it's getting up but will need lots of work. My dream would be to create a place where are contained reviews of ALL the released (and unreleased?) games, with a short review and somescrenshots.

I've counted around 700 different snes games released, so the project could actually be done if I (we?) can get enough people involved and get a couple of review per week.

I'd like to hear your honest toughts, suggestions and, why not?, help offers on how to develop the page, how to get known and all.

    Thanks in advance,

    karsten

Looking good. I do think the top banner needs to be changed though. Different colour and better font for the name.

Maybe something like a controller so you have the dpad on the left the buttons on the right and above the start select buttons have the site name where it would normally say super nintendo and so on.

Or just copy something like these two:

I like the idea of it, it looks like you're using Joomla as a CMS - maybe you need to alter the theme to make it look less corporate intranet and more games-centric?

I'm a graphic & ui designer / php-dev / web fixer by trade these days, always happy to help :) drop me a PM if you need some help.

I might be able to 'donate' some hosting on my VPS, and perhaps fork out for a cheap .com domain like snesreviewarchive.com. It all really depends on the amount of traffic the site is going to generate though, thoughts? I'm relatively inexperienced with this sort of thing, maybe others would be better suited to it.

    Let me know.

i'm going to take all the help that i can :)

BTW concerning host, i was planning to move in the future to a place like this:

    http://www.hosting24.com/

unlimited bandwidth and space for 4.84/month... not that we would generate an excessive amount, but still nice to hear!

only legal material is for sure... the website's goal is to get at least 1 review for all the released snes games. i'll get a domain when i'll move to a for pay host (quite soon if i'll get enough interest in the project).

so the webpage will get "quite" big :)

BTW, you're welcome to help ;)

lunarpages never did me wrong on my old site, if you're feeling adventurous use Amazon S3 & EC2 for absolute control (which is what I'm currently using)

    suggestions for the URL?

    snesreviewarchive. net? com? org?
    or just snesreview?

    there's already a www.snesreviews.co.uk BTW...
