I'm in awe! It's sad that most mags do not even have a spine. Only two of my magazines have one - EDGE and the German GamePro - and it doesn't only look nicer, it also helps a lot finding a satisfactory storing solution. What about EDGE btw? I always thought it was a good mag, although maybe the superb layout and design has influenced my judgement a little bit. Is it regarded as one of the best magazines among the British VG mags?
Really liking that Retro Gamer pic and makes me want to break out my colleciton from storage (all Super Play and N64 magazone with misc others) but will make do with a small sampe of varius mags soon.
I totally agree with you, Edge Magazine certainly have the cutting 'edge' amongst other magazines:thumbsup: They 'Edge' present their articles so well and I really enjoy reading their magazines! Sadly I only have 2 issues left:crying: I managed to find a 1998 edition of Edge, issue 54 which has pictures of the Panasonic 3DO M2 which has a Dolphin game playing in the background and the graphics look awesome, well presented article. It also has an article of the 64DD with different coloured controllers including Metal Gear Solid for the PlayStation, it's a very good read indeed! If anyone is interested in my magazines that I have please don't hesitate to PM:thumbsup:
I threw so many magazines out before I moved because I needed space, and let me tell you I dearly regret it. On the other hand if I had the space I would collect nearly any and everything tech related.
You should have stored them in a strong cardboard container and kept them in the attic. Here's me giving advise when I left my in the attic while moving (D'oh)!
Here my collection of german video game mags. I think around 250-300? Most of them are the famous "Video Games" 1993-RIP, some years of the Powerplay, many manic and the first year of the TOTAL. What you see on the first pics is 1/3 of whats in the box ;-). Many years of gaming history...
Nice collection, but don't forget that cardboard has an acid. Storing them like that will eventually lead to yellowing of the pages. If anyone really values their collections, I would recommend acid-free comic bags and boxes for storing magazines. If they're really important, acid-free backing boards will prevent spine roll, too. You can get them from all good comic stores, or online.
Really nice collections in here, I especially like the ones that show something if you got every single issue^^ and that clear Xbox thing is really cool
Edge are very interesting magazine, i try to collect their first N° (1 to 30), I have a lot french computer magazine like Tilt, or ST mags, but not console mag because i dont like it (very poor informations)
Thanks for that, forgot about this post. Managed to find a few old MD & nintendo mags, will get them scanned once I've sorted a scanner out.
i still have my official dreamcast uk magazines, i had older nintendo official magazines and retro stuff but they got thrown out by my boyfriend, i have a few newer nintendo official magazines though.
I need to photograph my EGM hoard. I have complete years for most of the 90's. I need to fill in some gaps though.
Bumping this old thread! Uploaded the complete first year of Club Nintendo Mexico to my site (if anyone's interested). Recieved it already in digital form from donations, mostly from guys who belong to the long dead group Club Nintendo Scans Depot. Link to the list of mags here: http://start-game.com/blogs/blog/2011/10/revista-club-nintendo-mx-ano-01-completo-13-numeros/ Enjoy!
I've got several hundred gaming and electronic/technology magazines. They are Game Pro, Nintendo Power, Electronic Gaming Monthly, EGM2, Next Generation, Extreme Gamer, PSM, Official PlayStation Magazine, Official Dreamcast Magazine, DCM, Official XBOX Magazine, Popular Science, Popular Mechanics, PC World, PC Magazine, PC Gamer and WIRED. There might be a few others, but I can't recall them off the top of my head. And here I thought I was the only crazy person in the world that saves every magazine rather than throw them out after a few years.
Hmm, I never actually considered to catalogue my magazines... After a quick look over the mags in reach right now, I appear to have issues of N-Zone, ScreenFun, big N, Total! and Nintendo Fun Vision - from anywhere between 1998 and 2003 or so, in varying conditions -, plus newer issues of GamePro, MAN!AC/M!Games and (anime/manga/Japan mag) Animania. The generally oldest mags I can think of - that I should still have - would be 1984/1985 issues of the C64 mag 64'er. I should gather all those mags together someday, note down what they are and store them away safely...
