GOOD morning and what is your favorite videogame front cover i would love to see it .the rules are it must be a game that has been released and on a console also if you want you can add a bit of info as to why its your favorite. i dont think it matters to much if you dont own it.

eur/usa/jap any console or pc and you must use a pic please

i will get the ball rolling with abe 99 its one of my fave's of course im sure we all have more then one. i brought it for $60 sealed about 3 years ago and now it seems to be worth more then $150 on some net shops i just love the cartoon pic and name.

The one in my avatar is totally awesome in its simplicity (and the US cover has to be one of the ugliest ever ):

And of course, the Gunstar Heroes cover is nice and colorful:

And another one of my favorites is the cover for R-Type Final, which I like more than the game itself:

I'm sure there are many other that I've forgotten to mention.

Has to be DaiMakaimura on the MD for me. Big fan of the game too which is a bonus ;-)

Couldn't find a scan on the net, so this pic of my copy will have to do:

Off the top of my head I really admire the foil cover for the original Kingdom Hearts. I also have a real soft spot for the Nintendo's NA "Pixel" covers for the NES when it came out.

Here are the answers from 3 years ago for comparison:

    http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9293&highlight=cover+art*

I love the cover to Jade Cocoon 2 on PS2 in the UK (not the US version), not for the actual artwork but the quote that says "Anime fans will gush over the cool character designs". Gush? Really? Umm, did a video game just suggest that Anime nerds are going to jizz over it?!?!

As for artwork, indeed a hard choice. I like many for many different reasons. This one always had an impact on me, though:

I always thought old PC games had the kickass covers.

I love the cover for the Quakes, Duke Nukem 3D is high up there, He's standing on dead bodies!!! Wearing sunglasses!

    "Dudes with Attitude" for NES?

Other than that I've always been partial to the Japanese cover for "Super Mario Bros. 3".
