Hi guys! This is mah first post, so I'm new (Duh) Anyways, I love beta stuff. Particularly Earthbound 64 and Zelda 64. I found a page that had a HUGE amount of beta images of Zelda 64 near the bottom of the article, along with some videos. Just thought I'd show you guys here, we could always use new info on things like these, so reply if you need anything. Anyways, here's the link to the article: http://www.unseen64.net/2008/04/04/zelda-64-ocarina-of-time-tech-demo-proto-beta/ The Beta Guy [Edit] Wow. Thats a lot of views. Wasn't expecting to get that much on my first post here. Guess everyone thought I had a copy of the beta or somethin'. Misleading title I guess XD
http://tcrf.net/User:GlitterBerri/Prerelease:The_Legend_of_Zelda:_Ocarina_of_Time - a TCRF user's (well, admin's) work-in-progress OoT prerelease article, with screenshots, translations of articles from Japanese, etc. Not yet finished as far as I know, but might be the most comprehensive piece about the subject once it's done.
Thanks for the info, I'll be looking at TCRF more. Thanks for the reply. It does seem to have some interesting stuff, but I can still tell it's still not quite finished, but it has a lot of content. Use the EDIT button - H
TCRF is maintained by game prototype scholars (as snobbish as it sounds). They take lots of care to provide highest quality pictures and to verify their facts. Unseen is kind of a mess and some of the information is questionable. Lastly, don't double post edit your last one if no one has replied.
I also prefer TCRF, but its less of a blog and more of a wiki. You're probably best to check both then try out a strictly Zelda wiki? Just my two cents.
Unseen was at its best when it was gathering materials and not adding commentary. Same for TCRF, assumptions are dangerous when they arent labelled as such. Simply state what is there first, without trying to explain developer intent. Both have/had a purpose, much like how my little blog has its own use.
zeldawiki.org has this type of stuff but is worse than U64 in my experience. Proto research is abysmal and/or scant outside of the holy proto trinity (Assembler, TCRF and U64). Your site is nice, I can't remember the last time you updated lol.
I still have the old Zelda Chaos site jaytheham and the new Zelda Chaos Wiki bookmarked, but TCF should already have all the info "ported" to their wiki.
Recently I found this oot mod being worked on currently and someone found some beta icons that aren't even on tcrf. http://forums.zelda64.net/topic/10336808/3/
Those have been on TCRF for some time they're on the Majora page. The site's high standards and undersized staff makes it slow.
Made a video and I tried to pretty much cover everything. Took me about a year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdQO8_IMAk8
Watched both when they were uploaded and was delighted. Will you do another proto investigation video of the same caliber one day?
Thanks Hex, you just taught me something as well I have just been hitting reply with quote in a new window and CTRL+C'ing every post i wanted to quote, lol. Wasnt aware the other button was a multi-quote, lol, so thanks again hex!
I hate you. Seriously, that was my first name suggestion and YOU took it. I don't know who you are, or where you live, but I will find you. And when I find you, I will cut off all ways of communication and lock you inside. Then, I will tie you up and put you in a closet, then hack into your computer and keep your ASSEMblergames account for myself. Nah, just kidding, but i still hate you XD But not really.
