Hello everyone I'm new and there is this one game I have to get my mortal fingies on Zelda 64 it is a beta of ocarina of time for the N64 1998 if you know anybody who has this tell me I haved to get a copy of it :]
Lots of people would love to find this, but I'm afraid its out out of reach for those of mere mortal fingies.
Closest thing available to an OoT prototype is probably the MQ Debug ROM (with maps 120 and 121, a plethora of debugging options, etc.), which you likely already know about. An actual regular OoT proto, tho... nope.
The unseeen64 forum was a good resource for Zelda 64 beta information until inexplicably they closed it...
Nintendo is pretty protective when it comes to alphas and betas. Something online would likely get removed rather quickly I assume.
You gotta learn to write in a normal font =p The old model was trying too much too look like Link from the NES-SNES days. I don't think the update they did to him was all that bad. Certainly better than what's happened to other franchises like Sonic, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro...
well yeah Link isn't bad in ocarina of time it's just he looks better in tech demo and the NES and the SNES days were boss and sonic is pretty messed up
I don't know, the tech demo model is kind of cool, but compared to the Young Link model of OOT it hasn't aged well
TECH DEMO link defending and loading up a spin attack also the shield on the stalfos looks like the shield on Links tech demo shield
this looks like Hyrule market in full 3D and Link's shield looks different also the lack of item select is based off of zelda 1 and a link to the past and the C buttons were used to controll a camera angle cause its engine is based off of mario 64's
Beta trailer in the video it has a super mario 64 soom camera style you can put a sword in C buttons and I believe the jellow like enemies are zohls
You know, whole websites are dedicated to the collection and organization of Zelda 64 Beta content. I don't think one thread on this site is warranted as it carries the same but less detailed info. Also, edit your first post every time you want to add something, because along with this and your 64 Beta thread, you might not last too long.
Someone put together a really great documentary on the development of OoT and the changes through development. If you haven't seen it, it is a very interesting set of videos: http://www.assemblergames.com/forum...carina-Of-Time-Documentary-Part-3-(Final-part!)
