Hi Yakumo. Im actually an old time Retro Core fan. Thanks to you I bought Macross Scrambled Valkyrie for the SFC. But I digress.....
My only reason for wanting the Framemeister is to play my Japanese PS1/PS2 and N64 games. These look dreadful on my current overly large Sony Bravia.
In your review of the XRGBmini you said that PS2 480i content had issues. Has this been addressed with firmware?
PS1 games (via PS2) run at 240P natively? So these games will look fantastic via the Framemeister?
N64 via the XRGB. If you've experienced it could you give me a quick appraisal. And is the RGB mod a must have? Ive looked at a few vids and the colour balance has looked off to me. S-video won't get it done?

(btw- if this isn't the appropriate thread to ask these questions I apologise. Delete & throw the answers via messenger if thread is for orders only).

    Thanks.

Thanks for watching Retro Core :)

As for the PS2 issue. It turns out I was using the wrong settings which is why it didn't look to hot. The 240p stuff looks fantastic. Neo Geo, PC Engine, Saturn , PSX, SFC, MD, Master System, RGB modded NES all look great. I can't say what an N64 would look like though because I've never tried one via RGB.

To get the most out of the Framemeister you really should be using RGB. RGB is the ultimate in analogue video for old consoles. Using composite will make you games look better running through the Framemesiter then directly to your TV but RGB is the only real true way to get the most out of your console.

Yakuma, it's time for me to order one from you if it's still possible! I haven't been in Japan for 8 years and I miss wandering around in Akihabara. There was such a nice Ramen shop over there.

Sure, I'll send you a PM with the order details.

Ramen, I'm afraid I don't really like it because of the restaurant smell. But there are many great Ramen restaurants all over the country. I don't live in Tokyo though so I can't really recommend anything in the Tokyo area.

    Thanks!

I read that scanlines weren't that good when it runs at 1080p. Has it been fixed? I guess it wouldn't be much of an issue if the TV has a good upscaler when running at 720p...

I'm afraid that issue hasn't been fixed. I just use my Framemeister in 720p as the TV can upscale that to 1080p without any issues. My 360 is set to 720p too since most games are 720p anyway.

Hey Yakumo I was curious if I could order 2 xrgb mini's off of ya. Not right now though because I have to wait for confirmation from my friend. Could you give me a price total. I am sure it is just the price you mentioned, but x2.

    Thanks man

I'm afraid it's still the same price unless you want both of them shipped together to the same address. In that case I can give you a small discount that will be saved on the shipping.

When you're ready to but just let me know :)

I use an xrgb mini with my PS1 (rgb scart cable) and PS2 (D cable) and they look FANTASTIC. The pixels are razor sharp and the colors are crisp and clean.

You get better video quality if you change the upscale settings, I find consoles that don't do antialiasing (I.e the PS1) look best on "game" and consoles that do a lot of antialiasing (I.e the gamecube) look better on "video". I don't use scan lines though, so your results might vary. And yes, RGB/component is a must have!

    Hey Yakumo

I can't send paypal in Yen. Do you have the ability to convert to USD and submit an invoice?

Also, do you happen to keep stock of the XCapture-1? I'm looking to save as much money as i can but need both devices and the xsync.

    Hi A Murder of Crows,

Sure, I can send you an invoice via PayPal. If I send it in yen you will be able to pay in yen as PayPal will do the conversion for you.

I do have the X-Capture 1 in stock but it's not cheap at 38,800yen there is also the X-Capture mini. To ship a Framemister and X-capture 1 together via EMS with online tracking and insurance would cost 79,200yen.
