Best memory was selling it and buying a ps3, 360 was always an unreliable waste of money. Looking back to recent game put out for it, gta v looks like is made from melting crayons(ass graphics, M$ had ass customer service, in fact their pr department is just one dude and a bottle of jergens).
At least xbox live was and still is extremely consistent and reliable, unlike a certain other service you may have heard of... Microsoft had fantastic customer service and were nothing but helpful to me when my 360 was connection issues.
Still remember the day I saw an xbox 360 for the first time, I was astounded, but the controller looked so messed up to me. Then I also remember when I first gt my 360, so unbelivably happy, funny enough, the game I really loved to play was dead rising @Stipo360 My happiest moment was probably when I got GTA IV, I waited so damn long for that and was so hyped, I actually don't think I've ever been happier than that day Anyone remember watching this weird shit when they powered their 360 on for the first time?!?
I remember I purchased my 360 in 2007 as part of a bundle with 4 games - Halo 3, Forza 2, Harry Potter and whatever Fifa game was out at the time. Sold Harry Potter and Fifa straight away without even opening them on ebay, and bought COD 4:MW. Played the 360 on my existing 20" CRT and thought "yeah, this is pretty good". Then about a month later I upgraded to a 32" LCD and I was blown away at the detail, especially in COD 4:MW. That console RROD'd after about 2 years, but MS did a free fix and it's been going strong ever since.
Bought the premium pack with launch and have not regretted it ever since. Great console with an epic line-up of games. Ironically during the early days I would mainly play XBLA games and now many years later I mainly play retail/GOD X360 games from that era
stupid orginal xbox 360 and there rrod, thats why I have a ps4 now, My trust in xbox has died. It would nice getting a new model 360 but it's never the same as getting one and playing one as back 10 years ago.
Still remember Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon coming out... was so excited about the future of Mistwalker on Microsoft consoles...
I didn't like anything about Blue Dragon to be honest, other than how it looked Graphically. Graphically it's one of the best looking 360 games. Lost Odyssey was the complete package. I should have never sold off my copy. Eh, I can always rebuy it and start the adventure over. But it gets so tedious in that cave.
i 'm one of the few people in the world that has little to no FPS games or sports games in their 360 collection
It wasn't the 360 that failed. It was the PPC technology. 360's had RROD, Microsoft handled it well, extended the warranty period, fixed the units. Ps3's had the RLOD or YLOD, same deal. PPC related. Apple, couldn't cool G5's to make a laptop, nevermind cooling a full tower with copper lines and 12 fans, they dropped PPC and went intel based. PPC was great but nobody could keep it from melting at higher speeds.
Fantards? Boy, aren't you the clever one? Takeshi's criticism was valid. The 360 was an unreliable console early on. I knew people who were on their 3rd 360 before the S models were even released. Also at least the PSN was free. It's hard to complain about a service you have to pay $0 for. Double posting must be so hard not to do. I mean, hitting the edit button then typing? Obviously it's just too complicated. If only there was a way to streamline it to one button... I purchased a 360 very late in its life. Before I bought one for myself, I used to play a friend's all the time. I bought Just Cause and was able to pretty much beat it on his console. Whenever I did get around to picking up my own, I bought Condemned and F.E.A.R. with it. Smart decisions. F.E.A.R. is still one of my favorite FPS games.
If you own an even halfway-decent PC I recommend playing it on there if at all possible. While the 360 version isn't bad, I prefer how fluid the 60fps is on PC. You can get all 3 games for $4.99 through this bundle. Do avoid the PS3 version, though. I hear nothing but bad things about that version. https://www.bundlestars.com/en/bundle/fear-bundle F.E.A.R. 2 is decent, it just feels like a console shooter while F.E.A.R. was obviously built with the PC in mind. The A.I. in there was incredible for the time. Still holds up to a lot of other A.I.
I thought the RROD was related to graphics. Anyway, the extended warranty ultimately didn't do much good in my case. My Xbox RROD'd, Microsoft fixed it, then it RROD'd again a year or two later, and by that point it was no longer under warranty. The later 360 units were a lot better. I have a Jasper system that I got in 2009, and it's still working fine, even though my PS3 now has issues.
Last time I gamed seriously on PC, mine had a handle screwed to the top of the case for lan parties. Then computer shows stopped coming around to local hotels because of this internet thing. We all migrated from dialup PCs that had to be upgraded every 60 days to the Xbox console.
