Today marks the 10 Year Anniversary of the release of the Xbox 360 which was released to the world on November 22 2005.Share either your best memories of this great console or just show some of your crown jewels of your Xbox 360 collection
Still remember as a kid hoping i could get a 360 as soon as humanly possible so i didn't have to keep playing dead rising at the internet cafe thing near me. Those were dark times.
Don't had too much notion of the 360 but; My "best" memory must have been when I ordered custom shells for some controllers, tried fitting them and broke them and had to get another set, in a dofferent color because the stock was run out and yeah now I have some transparent green 360-controllers.. Which I guess is pretty cool because they kinda look like Jungle Green N64-controllers (the color)
i remember back in ye olden times waiting in line for Forza 2 to come out only to buy Perfect Dark Zero instead (don't judge me i grew up playing the original)
Batman: Arkham Asylum - Incredible. Batman: Arkham City - Even better. GTV V - Fantastic (to me, GTA IV felt like an interactive techo. demo, since (to me) it was just not enjoyable). Bioshock - A great first person shooter. Bioshock 2 - Improved on the first in a lot of ways, and was much better than Bioshock: Infinite). Vanquish - Superb third person shooter. Singularily - Very good, and very under-rated first person shooter. And lots, lots more great games.
Gears of War, anyone? It was probably the biggest factor in getting a 360 early for me. Perfect Dark Zero was kind of underrated, and nowhere near as bad as people say, the first two Arkham games were amazing, playing craploads of Rock Band and Guitar Hero (that's what I was playing when my first 360 RRODed on me, only one to do that), PGR, the Orange Box, the 360 had a ton of amazing games. And it's still (technically) getting new ones.
A friend had given me a RROD launch console with a broken spindle that I brought back from the dead for about $15. In return, it gave me a solid 5 years of service until it was retired for a 4GB slim. So technically speaking, I have only had to buy one 360 over my 8 years, and counting, of ownership which is probably considered a miracle to most people.
Hehehe, 360 would cook itself usually anyway. Careful, those who didn't like my 'dislike' comments have just posted theirs. Interesting piece that.
I had my first 360 in 2008. It was 20gb PRO falcon and lasted 4 years. Then I got a Jasper and a slim and a slim E. Only one Xbox 360 has failed me and it was my first one that I saved money for when I was 8 years old. I was saving 249Eur for over a year, but it was worth it At the start of the generation, physical media was still dominating, but starting from about 2010-2011, physical media has lost it's presence. Why did they have to remove all the cool instruction booklets?
I've had my Elite since December of '09, and my Halo 3 and Halo 3 Mythic discs have served me incredibly well considering they've spent days at a time running in my 360. It was the first console I could truly call mine (had a PS2 but it was my sister's), and it's brought me so many hours and hours of fun over the years. Even though I haven't touched it for a while, I know I'll find myself coming back to it at some point when a nostalgia trip hits me for a game not backwards compatible on the xboner.
