And the plug pulled if you so much as sneeze the wrong way. It has been said time and time again, we pay for a reason. Dedicated server with 2 drives for under $50? I wouldn't trust it.
what is the donations at now after i donated and what not still was showing 400 is it a manual progress bar cause it doesn't seem automatic
The provider I'm talking about is very trusted in the industry here. I have been using it for my business for over 10 years, not a single problem. I was just trying to help.
I'm gonna give something for the first time, but there is no link on the first post in order to do the donation? Edit: Nevermind it's displayed at the front page... I was surprised cause I clicked on the ban link and it points to a post inside this thread (btw, not the first one), and I was expecting to see the "Donate" link directly here.
just donated $10 US , i appreciate the forum and help from members in the time i've been here. nonosto , go to the main page of the forums and look to the right. There is a donate button there , took me a while to find it
$20 from me, no problem. If things start to lag, I'll pitch in some more. You won't find a better gaming site, invested in gaming history and obscura, to drop 20 bucks on out there.
You're not going to get a link in this thread. The Donate button is not just a hyperlink. It is an HTML form/input.
Updated! Almost there. Please don't donate all the remaining money yourself, this is a community fundraiser. Your generosity is appreciated but let's see if the community can finish it out on it's own rather than the regular patrons.
The server we have has legal protections, and a special agreement. All complaints come to me, and I deal with legal issues personally. At most hosting companies a single dmca from a big company can have the server pulled. What we do is acknowledge the complaint to stem the legal machine, contact the party and establish a friendly and professional relationship, examine and then take actions. Is it protected speech? Is it infringing? Can it just be modified to comply with the request? Because we are friendly to developers and are looking to further development (indeed many members became developers as a result), a polite request from the developer itself usually suffices and legal departments are never involved. We have failed if we get a DMCA. Developers are respected and we take their complaints seriously and act immediately. Pre-release and work in progress is not allowed here because it causes people to lose their jobs. When dev builds get leaked (splatterhouse) and a very rough work in progress is now viewed as the final build, it kills the game. Because of the splatterhouse leak, people lost their jobs. We are vehemently against the trend of stealing from production servers, releasing unfinished in production / about to be released content. It is not only harmful to the employees we know as friends, but to the companies themselves. Many companies depend on the outcome of a single game to stay alive. People work for little or NO money sometimes to see a project to completion. AAA titles aside, much development is hand to mouth survival and a single bad event can cause a company to fold. This is like cutting down the apple tree to get the apples you love. You will get less or no more apples if you do this kind of thing. This site is here to foster learning and game preservation. Our approach is "That was a good apple, let's save the seeds and plant them!" This is especially relevant when the tree is long gone. -ASSEMbler
of course i was going to see what the community donates first before i jump in completely if i saw massive struggles my plan was to complete the goal but seems to be going very good so that i am happy to see
PayPal takes POST or GET so here ya go @ASSEMbler you should really copy this into the first post! I wasn't the only one who had to go searching for it.
Owe almost $1200 to the tax man this year so I can't spare much but I've donated as I have every year.
i cant figured it out how to donate there is no link in the first post and clicking the goal just makes the goal picture bigger o.0 NVM figured it out donate button on the front page you got me down for a $5 monthly
I'm glad to see more donations. This is one of, if not the most useful sites of it's kind on the internet. I don't know how many times I've seen other websites link back to "those guys on assemblergames". It is notable that so much creation and exploration gets done here that we all benefit from. Now come on everyone who hasn't donated! A lot of $5 dollar donations add up quickly.
