I tend not to shop around at thrift stores, 2nd hand stores, Salvation Army stores, etc. The big reason for me is because they sell these things at discounted prices so that less fortunate people can afford them. I don't need to "score" on a Sega Genesis system or random controllers dirt cheap since I can afford them at regular/fair market prices. People who can't afford to get their kids any kind of decent Christmas gift... Those are the people who need to "score".
The bigger moral concern regarding pawn shops is surely the exploitative prices that the store give to the debt-ridden clientèle for their goods in the first place. Always makes me feel a little dirty.
Today i went scouting with the wife and kid. i scooped up a couple ps2 games for $2 each, a new in package 3rd party xbox controller, army of two 360, and an xbox1 for $10. and it works ;p
