MS had to buy the rights for PDsaga, revamp the graphics (yet avoid the emo-androgyny look of FF) and release it all over japan with the biggest ad campaign ever seen on the land of the rising sun.
Well, Futatsugi doesn't want to do a sequel to PDSaga. Thats the thing, there wasn't supposed to be anything after it. Team Andromeda ENDED the series with PDSaga. That was it. Azel was never intended to find Edge floating around in the astral plane and subsequently create Orta by mixing their DNA, thats not canon. Futatsugi's idea for a "follow-up" to PDSaga was something like, you were just some person finding pieces of ancient machines and flying around from town to town. It wasn't a real sequel to it per se, it was just the only direction the game could go AFTER the events of Saga. But no, the only idea for a full game Futatsugi has pertaining to PDSaga is to remake it into a shooter. I imagine if he did anything else with the IP, it would take place as a prequel or in an alternate universe, since to him, PDSaga was the end.
You need to study mate. The Saturn sold very very well in Japan as did the Dreamcast. The Mega Drive and Master System didn't do as well but they sure did a lot better than what the 360 is doing. I'd even go as far to say that even the Game Gear sold more. It sure has more games. Yakumo
Mistwalker has Cry on coming too. The 360 RPGs that aren't the played out Final Fantasy continue on. All we need is a true Chrono Trigger remake and I'm happy.
Just want to step in real quick and say that Lost Odyssey is AWESOME!!!!! Really reminds me of Final Fantasy 6 in a lot of ways.
Nice Never played FF 6 (wanted to get the PS1 Remake I think I might do that now) but yeah I'm psyched for Lost Odyssey now more so than I was when I realized it was coming out this week (and now is)
grrrrr http://www.destructoid.com/wtf-american-lost-odyssey-packaging-is-extremely-ghetto-70121.phtml
So, do you actually get to play the game? Just j/k, but now I see the advantage of bluray in PS3.
I'll have to try...when I saw the early showings of it, it didn't look too great. Enchanted Arms was entertaining enough. Blue Dragon's actual game is good but RPG's nowadays just don't strike a chord as well as the ones I played a ton on PS1 etc.
What did the PS1 version have over the SNES version, apart from added cutscenes? (I'm asking as I only have FFI and II remakes, and I'm interested to find out whether it's worth getting, or better holding out for a SNES one).
Project Slyphheed is a semi sequel to the Slipheed shmups.... No Batteries I'd track their carts down but I fear their batteries may run out soon that and they're very expensive
