i know in the original version there were some cartoony nudity and swear-words, i think that's what he's refering to.
something was taken out of the game forget what I read about it somewhere. Sombody was shackled in the original and isn't in the GBA remake
Censorship is the least of the problems with the GBA remakes.. there's also the issue of a smaller screen with less stuff visible, inferior button system, remixed special effects and butchered music. The PSX versions are better, but they're still weak compared to the originals because of the buggyness and crappy FMV akin to Star Wars special editions.
The Snes version is already censored: it lacks some nudity, foul lenguage and religion-related content the SFC version had. You can thank NOA for that.
Yeah, I'm JUST finished disc 2 of Lost Odyssey and it is really good. Easily the best JRPG on the 360, and in all honesty, the best RPG I've played since... shit, maybe Panzer Dragoon Saga. Definitely destroys every Final Fantasy that isn't VI. Right now, I'd say its about tied with VI.
Kids these days dont play FF for the quality, but the emo/androgyny shit IMO. It used to be a good series nonetheless, the problem is that after the dumbtastic failure of the FF movie, square was broke, and the only way to recover (apart from their merger with enix) was whoring the franchise.
Could be, just like most kids go around doing random shit in GTA (killing bystanders, blowing cars, etc...) instead of doing the goddamn missions... But in the end they're buying the game, and thats all squeenix cares about.
If you like JRPGs, then yes, Lost Odyssey is worth the money. It feels like the evolution of FF6, which is why elsewhere made the statement that Lost Odyssey is MY Final Fantasy 7 (since I grew to despise the series after 6, they just never caught that magic again).
It is also notorious that, by default, the GBA versions run on easy mode (a mode unlocked on the PSX version AFTER you've completed the game on normal, and one that was never available on the SFX/SNES versions. I know this because me and 3 friends embarked on playing FFII, played it for a huge, huge number of hours and my mate's little brother completes it on his GBA in a couple of days and rubs it in our face. Did we miss something by running away from the ghost of the Emperor?
