How many times have you re-purchased Super Mario Bros 1? My guess is it's another fleecing. We need one about each generation.
It's at the same time sad and great: sad, because sellings were not so well...great for players 'cause it is a not-"costy"-console-anymore
Considering they want people to transition to the 3DS they probably won't drop the DS prices. It would encourage people to hold off. I'm surprised by this news happening so soon but not that they'd have to drop the price eventually. $250 was too much for sure. But they still need the heavy hitting games. Zelda can't do it alone. Even throwing in Star Fox 64 isn't enough in my opinion. It'll take awhile but it'll get there. Also it's interesting that Nintendo will likely be taking a loss on each unit sold.
Uh, 10 NES games and 10 GBA games. All of which are on my 3DS. Given that that is the only portable machine I use, it's pretty nice for me. Even if that wasn't the case, I've put 100s of hours into my 3DS to date, so I got my money's worth.
Well, some of the GBA games are pretty good, but seriously, how many times on how many systems do people need to own Mario 1, Ice Climber, Balloon Fight and Donkey Kong Jr.? Especially considering that Ice Climber and DK Jr are shit.
I'd be happy to have a portable Legend of Zelda though. And they've only announced 5 of the NES games and 5 of the GBA games. The 5 GBA games are pretty killer though. Metroid Fusion? Yoshi's Island? Mario vs. Donkey Kong? Hell, all 5 of the announced GBA titles are killer. And there are 5 more left to be unveiled. Even if the remaining 10 titles are crap (which that's unlikely), I'm happy over what has been announced. What would be hilarious would be if one of the 10 GBA titles is a localized Mother 3. Won't happen, but it would be an incredible good deed for Nintendo to do.
I seriously hope the GBA games don't take for ever to come (like end of December). I'm probably the most excited about the batch of GBA stuff we're getting.
I wonder how to register as an early adopter so I don't get screwed out of the free games. No details on that yet? If I hadn't gotten the 3DS for about the same amount a DS lite costs down here, I'd be pissed, somewhat. But I guess this price drop had to be done to save the system?
I was contemplating buying a DSi XL for a friend for her brithday but if they're not going to bother lowering its price it might be worth buying a 3DS. On the other hand she is likely to update it when prompted and knowing Nintendo every update will attempt to block flash carts. Seems extremely underhanded to offer two very different generations of hardware at the same price point to force consumers into a market they may not care about. It looks like a bargain, smells like a bargain and you may not lose anything but I personally don't like being corralled like a steer.
Wow! 10 free NES games? and 10 free GBA games? http://vba.ngemu.com/ http://fceux.com/web/home.html -adrianc
Not everyone in the entire world uses emulation. Let alone uses emulation as a means to get themselves free games. Looking a gift horse in the mouth isn't exactly the best of ideas.
