1) Because I want to play Jpn games that are never coming to USA (system is region locked, ****ing nintendo) 2) Virtual Console from Japan will be better and get stuff sooner 3) Jpn DSiware was ****ing awesome while USA DSiware was crap for a really long time. (Hell DSiware in japan on March 9 is getting a Video Game maker that has you programing the games in basic your self). http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2011/02/24/dsiware_basic/
I'm not buying it right away when it's released in Europe. I was expecting a better launch title list but unfortunately I am only slightly interested in a couple of games. So I'll be waiting until something more interesting comes out.
I'm going to wait till they release the Nintendo 3DSi. It took them a while to get RR going how many options and did anyone notice the flying car wow! MGS 3D, looks by far the best title IMO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSX3PvB4Qlo
I suppose that makes sense. I never new the JP DSiWare shop had much better stuff. I knew it got things before we did (like the GG series), but I didn't know they had stuff we do not. It is kind of weird that Nintendo is region locking the 3DS though. I had a few imports for my DS (Ketsui Death Label, Jump Superstars, Stafi 4, Space Invaders Extreme), but, well, as you can probably tell, not really enough to have a need for the ability to import (as half of that list eventually got localized).
There are lots of reports about eye strain and complaints to Nintendo. Yakumo - have you heard anything about this?
The first time I tried the demo kiosk with my wife, after playing for 5 minutes, we both had eye strain, felt light headed and she was ready to vomit. Now that I have it in the house, I still feel the eye strain. As I've posted elsewhere, it's a similar to the feeling after playing the original Game Boy or Virtual Boy.
Original GameBoy? What's wrong with it eye wise? Sure the screen was slow and blurry but it didn't try to kill your eyes.
Hmm... I don't recall that issue with the OG Gameboy. The Gameboy Advance on the other hand was awful about bluriness and having to play under a light...
Thanks for sharing, I'm sure the kiosks once they get set up in the US will be destroyed by our rambunctious 9 year olds within a few hours. I would almost impulse buy one of these if it had just one amazing launch title.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E96hmFmOMRY Oh japan. No wonder you guys have a low birth rate.
LOL thats awesome, extra points for henshin scene. Their birthrate may be low but my god they make up for it in fun
So did anyone here get one of these? From what I've read, the negative effects from 3D depend on the game and on the level of the 3D. For instance, I read that for Pilotwings, 3D all the way up will make your brain hurt, but if you adjust the slider then it works quite well.
So is this 3D slider thing something you have to twiddle with constantly depending on the game? Reminds me of having to constantly adjust the contrast dial on the original GameBoy. Meh.
Oh yes, this will be mine next week. It will be mine! (user on the forum got me one over the weekend and is shipping it out early next week). =D
Nice! I look forward to your impressions! Another thing I've read about is that the issues with the 3D go away after time. Your brain just has to get used to the effect or something. This is why I'll be looking at a lot of magic eye pictures in the coming 3 weeks.
