4th Dead 360

That was in the peak time of them dying. My first took near two weeks, second about a month, last one about two weeks. I'm deciding whether or not to send it in yet since the towel trick gets it working. I might wait till after Gears 2. I shouldn't fuckin have to, but whatever.

 

I just sent mine to Microsoft Japan a couple of days ago. It's my second one. Problem with video freezing while the audio still plays. Good news is that I still had a month left on the warranty.

I'm curious as to how long it takes them to fix and return...

 

Mines dead again and it's staying that way. Guess I'm not going to be playing Gears 2 when it comes out. I even got the lancer and everything...whatever.

 

I have an Elite and no problems so far

My son had my old core system.....only went bang when put in the wireless adapter

Since then the new one has worked fine

Both get a good amount of useage as well and are both vertical and well ventilated

 

My retail died about a year ago. Got replaced.
My devkit died 6 months ago, but I get free replacements for it so its ok.
And I'm getting a new kit so its fine.

You guys have had it alot worse than me, only 2 RROD accounts. Well.. That's if you disregard the fact that the second RROD was from a development console.

Though here where I live, anyone that sends in a 360 for RROD replacement, usually gets it back in less than a week.

I got mine back in I think 4-5 days.

Xbox goes out tommorow, as long as I can find a UPS drop off...wish me luck for before the 7th.

You already are if you're playing Wii :lol: Still, at least the games are fun (not counting all the "wave a stick" shite games) even if they don't look as good as PS3 or 360.

The 360 situation is dire at best, I'd had mine 12 months, thought I was one of the lucky 10% - no dice. RRoD. To be fair to MS, I had a replacement console back within 10 days, albeit one with a scratch to the chrome drive cover - (I keep my consoles immaculate), I guess 'new' is a subjective term now.

Sucks for you mate, I have more faith in fucking whilst standing up as a contraceptive method than any revision of the 360 not fucking up. For reference, a good friend is now on his 7th 360 (took delivery this week), the past two RRoD's being the elites.

What a load of shit, but it's like that abusive-bunny-boiling ex-girlfriend that you just can't stay away from...

 

Yeah, I have a Falcon Elite. Looks like if you don't RROD something else is bound to happen. Pisses me off even more now as you can sign up for a preview of the new dashboard. I gave mine to UPS yesterday so hopefully its back before the 7th so I don't have to roll some heads.

Since all I do is play video games (har har) I ordered FF Chronicles to play Chrono Trigger since I've never played it before. The SNES one was too much.

The FF Chronicles "port" of Chrono Trigger is pretty shit (it's basically a hacked up emulator, the ROM can be found on the disc), but it's such a fantastic game you'll probably be able to overlook the issues. The original is much, much nicer but it does come at a premium.

 

yeah, someone told me the load times are garbage. It was only 10 bucks and Chrono on SNES was near 40. How is FF4?

 

I want Chrono Trigger on my DS... NOW.

 

If you're having video output problems like I was, it's a certain chip located near the fans. Somehow it loosens, and you need to apply pressure to it in order for it to work right.

But you've sent it out. I hope you get one in good condition.

 

Is it the scaler chip? That makes sense. I figured something came unsoldered or loose because the towel trick/smacking it made it work again until power down.

Colors would go crazy and stay like that but no freeze ups. If you powered down then it wouldn't give you video.

I was a dumbass and forgot to write down the tracking number. I just better get the fucker back by the 7th. I just got a snazzy Halo 3 controller too, the Todd McFarlane Spartan one...really nice in person! 38$.
