Now I know assembler said no fundraisers for anything that's not RE 1.5. But, this is beyond RE 1.5, this is the add on to arguably the greatest game of all time. See this thread http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20260&page=3 Now I believe his claim because he's been a member here for a damn long time. What does everyone think
As far as getting anything out of dumping the game, I know people who know OoTs innards from top to bottom, ripped the game apart literally, and discovered more hacking info than there is to know about SM64. Those same people even made an almost complete console debugger for the debug version of Master Quest: http://64.vg/files/zelda-debug/cam.png If the rom was dumped, rest assured, it will be ripped to shreds regardless even if you can't play it on an emulator. This is definitely the most important thing in existance, next to maybe a Sonic 1 prototype. Given the chance, if this is really true, it must be dumped. As soon as this hits the internet, I'm sure someone would be interested at getting 64DD emulation to work as well. It might even spark the release of more 64DD game dumps. Still though, I'm having my doubts. Although, I did hear that RANDnet users could access demos of games from the service, so maybe having a prototype of something like this isn't farfetched for that person.
any chance to get a proof? like a small video even taken by cellphone or screengrabs of something unseeN?
Friend of a friend, that's three degrees of separation... I don't like it and I certainly won't send money. He needs his hands on it or proof.
This is alot bigger then sonic xtreme. Your talking about a fairly complete game if things sound correct. Donations should be much more generous for something like this. Anyways, lets see what happens. Maybe the guy can arrange for the seller to let him handle the sale. I wonder how much he'd want. Apparently the friend has seen it in action so it means there's a way to get screen and videos.
I agree with the others - proof is what's needed here. It's surprising to find a radnet employee - even more surprising that this person has the 'holy grail' of zelda games - evern MORE surprising is that he's willing to sell it to a load of foreigners. I'm not doubting - I'm just agreeing with the others that proof is needed before anyone can go along with this - for obvious reasons. Show some proof and I'll more than happily chip in some cash.
I can't see how this could surface on an auction site without the wrath of nintendo coming down. This is not some shit 3rd party game, this is technically stolen good from the most possessive of owners...
Exactly in fact, I say you warn Nintendo mad and try and persuade his friend to do a community release for that very reason. If he does a yahoo auction, nintendo's going to just find out, come after him and he'll get nothing. If he does it through us he'll get a fair price and everyone's happy. Plus, its anonymous this way. In fact, why not contain this right now and let only the 0th bit deal with this. Delete that post in the Unreleased game section and mention in a PM to nintendoMad to bring discussion about it in here. I'm assuming he's a member in here because he's been around since 2004. Lets hope this is real guys and we have a shot. If playable and incomplete this could not only bring glory to the 64DD emulation it could pave the wave to find out new things to try in Ocarina that we never though possible. Maybe the guys got "Jungle Emperor Leo" as well . We can only dream
I think putting it for sale on an auction site isn't a good idea too. But also maybe the owner might request for it not to be released/dumped or something. We just need to wait for more info.
I *would* stay away from this for the 'friend of a friend'-type post, but last time I read a 'friend of a friend' on a different forum they actually came up with the goods, without previously having any proof apart from his say, and him himself not being one of the well-respected members of the board.
Proof-of-concept. It's not so hard to take a picture with a newspaper on the side to proof the whole thing its either : a) vapour-wave b) OR its all hype.
Nintendomad has had some very honest discussions with me. Too bad I rarely see him on MSN. I hope he finds a way to prove the legitimacy of the proposition so there can be enough money and hype to drive what is a real gift to all the Zelda fans =)
I've already sent a PM to assembler about this. But, I'm not comfortable with Nintendomad releasing any information about this in a public forum. That topic should be moved here. If that information gets out it could very well inflate the cost, because it would bring about a lot of hype. We need to control this. I say we don't even think any key details should be revealed even in this part of assembler. It should be that secretive. Discussion should stay between Nintendomad and Assembler. Updates should be on a need to know basis.
They will be from now on, and I actually thought that the forum was not accesible guest wise anymore, and that registration was screened because of all past event's. I am in possesion of some rare nintendo item's, and don't need tp prove my validity or honesty to anyone. I got a bit excited, and didn't expect the hype that came out of it, after all, I have no proof of it yet, except that I have bought development item's from the friend before, and he IS not a liar. But I have yet to see the proof of this, and also when I said auction, it would be private auction and anything of this nature must, MUST be SEEn, and then validated that it is working as well. IF you read my post, i do say, do not take this as gospel. I was merely providing information that a reliable source has told me the game exists. I also don't want money, I am not a donation type guy etc... and I honestly feel very offended by what people have said. I have been a part of this community since near the beginning, and not once have I ever posted bullshit concerning protoypes, development equipment etc. I did reveal this too early which I do regret now, but there is no way I would lie, what's the point?? Also I am just going to be keeping the relevvant people on the board involved now, and there will be no posting of screens or otherwise, apart from privately to these people, if it happens. I am a very busy guy now, with my own business, and find it very, very difficult to find time to actually get on and chat with the boards nowadays, and most of the time , I'm at different places, and do not put people or the board at risk by posting from public. The people who know me on this board, know I am very honest, a tad excitable , but most of all very discreet when it comes to ownership, and names etc...(sorry for not being in touch more Barcode) Two more thing's as I really need to get back to work! I never said he's is going to sell to me, the community or otherwise. This is immaterial now, and any info regarding this will now be by pm only. Also the fact that is a friend of a friend is immaterial as welll, as obviously if something crops up, then direct comms will be established, and can you guy's who are development collector's say that a deal has never happened this way???It has to me.
Running the IPL4Rom is no biggy really. The problem is emulating the Leo. Everybody is too lazy to really give it a shot. I tried but I gave up since it needs a serious amount of work to be figured out (It's very posible, just time consuming and my v64jr is working like shit). Best I got was finding out some commands. I got stuck on trying to find out how the DD notifies the N64 something is ready for transfer via DMA. =(
Iv'e been monitoring this thread since it was created, I'm a Zelda enthusiast and have already done many modifications for zelda even a beta restoration mod and a working URA zelda save enabler for Zelda OoT. URA Zelda has always been very important to me and only thought of it as lost among legends, I would be more then happy to donate to anyone willing to acquire the game and do a dump of it, but before that I want to know have we any proof yet that its actually in circulation? Not insinuating that original poster is giving misleading information as he seems very upset about the accusations against him, I am just wondering if anyone had recieved a heads up confirmation since this all went very private.
