The IPL4Rom is actually just a N64 rom with some leo extensions, it runs fine in every emulator if loaded from the correct address.
As for the status of N64 emulation : how leo works has mostly been figured out. I have a basic prototype that handles the basic data transfer from a dd drive and am able to produce complete disk dumps. I am merely waiting to finish the RSP emulation before I can show something working (ideally some silly demo run from the IPL4ROM).

That said, I only raised the curtain a bit in hope of helping this Zelda issue to become more concrete. There is still alot of things that need to be done, I originally wanted to pop up only when I had the demo ready, but I think it really would help for the motivation of getting this version Zelda to be "leaked". I won't share any more details as long as I don't have something practical to show. Don't expect this to happen tomorrow.

Nintendomad, feel free to tell your friend there is an emulator (almost) ready for the game.

As usual, please people keep this in the 0th bit for now.

Do we know if this is legit now? I'm still kinda doubting this whole thing because of the other "stunt" that other idiot pulled. It just seems so ironic that this pops up a few weeks after that event happened.

The people over at the OoT/MM hacking site still don't know about this, so that's good. However, unseen64.net knows that there's something strange going on. Other than that, I don't think many people know about this outside of 0th Bit. I'll keep on the look out.

What stunt, I mean really cmon, no one is asking for donation's etc.. and I, I, IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII want proof, and this certainly won't be a donation buy type thing, if it even transpires, I am finding it very difficult to deal with the japanese, I have dealt with this contact before, but dealing with his friend is proving a nightmare, especially since he is really wanting to keep it in the japnese community. I could do without hassles and accusations being thrown at me, in fact I will only be pming from now on, if anything transpires, and I suggest moving the original thread back to the unreleased games forum's.

For one, I have lied about nothing, and gained information from a reliable source, not proof. I ask of no donation, and frankly wouldn't have the time to do anything like that either, as well as the whole taking money thing, I'm not like that. I was trying to establish a deal for someone, and then they can decide how to go ahead, and should anything transpire, this will be the only thing I do. I will post no more updates via thread's, frankly I just keep getting thing's thrown at me, that are a little below the belt.

Uh, somehow there's a big misunderstanding here.

What I meant by "stunt", I wasn't pointing at you. I was talking about that other topic a few months a go, which was an obvious act for attention from someone I know for a long time. I just want to make sure that person isn't somehow getting involved in anyway with this one.

Perhaps I worded my post wrong, and if I probably did, then I apoligize. By no means was that post being directed towards you. I just don't want this turn out to be like that other topic. If it makes you feel any better, you can just ignore everything I've said today.

Now let's talk about something else. From someone who's been in the Zelda scene for a long time, I still doubt some things about what Ura Zelda was supposed to be. I can't even put my finger on when it was in development at the time, as the final version of OoT has little references to 64DD hardware. It's as if they canned the idea of Ura Zelda at the last minute before the final release of OoT. Hell, there aren't even any possible files that could be used for Ura, besides maybe a few icons and what not. Besides that, I'm surprised I don't see an extra object or map that could've worked. The only thing that was sort of behind the hood for a while, which many people haven't seen, is this:

This is a picture from the final version of OoT's map select (not the debug rom, these don't exist on that). Your guess is as good as mine. If you select either of these, you warp to the inside of the Deku Tree (default value if no specific map number is specified).

There are more things inside as well. With the new console debugger, we could find more information about how it worked.

A while back, the community did manage to get a game working with the DD disk icon next to the save game. There were little to no differences in game play, other than some actors/npcs being flipped around. What's surprising is that if you started a new game with the DD icon active, it plays the game normally. Now I'm not an expert in knowing how it loads things, but maybe this meant that Ura Zelda was just an add-on instead of an entirely new game? But I don't know, this whole thing just boggles my mind. Besides one or two detailed articles about what Ura Zelda was supposed to offer, how it works is still unknown.

Ura Zelda, or the correct title The Legend of Zelda DD is an expansion disk for the cartridge, and the cartridge contains all the neccesary hooks to enable the games to run together, and the use the same cartridge pass through slot, which enables the n64 to just load the dd and cart to play together, all the cartridge needs is the hooks to communicate. It's more technical, but I haven't got much time.

The game is a 32MB add on for Ocarina of time, and adds new enemies, dungeon's etc.. just like F zero x and the expansion disk, it also gives Ocarina of time 32mb of rewritable storage space which could be used for a level editor etc.. It would also record every act you made in the game. There's too much to explain, and frankly I can't divulge all the details I know yet. It is an expansion, and works with the cartridge perfectly, it did so,a nd Miyamoto stated the disk was complete, and the disk was submitted to randnet for testing.

BTW Nintendomad if your source is interested in the preservation of it, you might point out that we have people able to dump and make use of it.

Just to quickly say that i am still trying to negotiate things on this, but it's proving difficult, there's an extreme language barrier with something this complicated. Anyway I am still working on this, not dead yet, but not much of an updat, I obviously know more details, but please don't pm me asking for them, it's hard enough getting time as it is.

    This is certainly awesome.

If I was in your possition, I'd try to assure that the game could be dumped and preservated for history but withouth the actual game getting outside of the Japanese community.

Throw money at the guy. You know where he lives, who he is, etc.
If he rips you off, hire two nigerians to go to his house and scare the crap out of him.

The nigerians can send a lot of weird ass offers on products to him for the rest of his life though! The horror.

No major update here, although things have progressed very far, there is no guarentee of anything yet, and please do not discuss this on chat forum's, zelda fansites, anywhere, chat rooms, anywhere really. This is the only place to discuss, and please don't post after me and keep the discussion going either. There are other parties involved now, and price is not an issue for these parties. What I am trying to do is at least secure details, and the prroof to back them up, get details, and hopefully obtain a couple of members who have a DD kit a way to get a dump which will never be a torrent or public one. Now, please don't pm me, I cannot disclose any information further, other than to say I know mostly everything about this game, it's development etc.. but it won't go to a western member. I am pming assembler with some of the details I have and he will then decide whether this remains a public , private or otherwise topic.

Same here nintendomad, the fact that you are devoting your personal time to this means a lot. It takes a lot of effort to do something like this and it can be un-nerving to deal with the negotiation like high stakes poker. So believe me you have my highest gratitude.
