Before anything, ads for guests would be the best move at the moment.

If the site start selling merchandise, I would buy it.
Ads for guests is a very good move, on my opinion.

    Retro@ glad someone said it

You see English is not my first language. My sister taught me learn how to speak and write in English at home while I was learning Italian and some German at school days all those years ago

Some members here are a proper cunts well knowing they can take a advantage to take a piss out of someone that English is not their first language. Sadly I been there too. I often get into argue with someone and I can't win the arugement battles because of my English skills. I don't think I would fully improve at 100% but atlease most people will understand my English writing.

End of the day. For those who speak English alone should consider themselves to be a lucky without having stressed out learning other language.

    Lazy bastard.

^^ to be clear, the context of the 'english' word is to sum up the nation and most of it's folks mindsets, not about the language skills! (i can comment legitimately on it as i live in lancashire UK and was raised here...sadly!)
one other thing that irks me of this site is folks are too quick to jump on the 'grammar/post' card as an excuse to feel better at the expense of the ridiculed!
    ...
as you can see, as a user, i won't tolerate being addressed on it, hence the sigil update! (lower)
    ...
i can agree to genuine users not wanting to be around if it's plagued by fools...
but one man's fool is another man's sage! (POV)
    ....
    my last chip-in on this!
made point and no reason to derail subject further or go on! :friendly_wink:

UO: many "foreigners" here write English better than a lot of English people I know! Now that's sad! ;) Education isn't what it used to be, I guess.

Amiga: nothing wrong with being a Lanky! It's a lovely part of the World. People for the most part don't jump on bad grammar... however, they will bring it up if someone (yourself included) misinterprets what was said. Like me telling OTHER PEOPLE that they need to lay off Kev, he's ill and doesn't owe them any explanations, then you chiming in all offended saying nobody thinks he owes them anything. You totally misunderstood what I said, it would seem.

Incidentally, we aren't OT Nazis here - we tend to know what is and isn't too far off topic, and a bit of straying is fine, especially where it helps clarify something that was misinterpreted. That's not OT at all.

    ^^ apologies!
i meant to say, he owes ME no explanation! (backing up what you said)
    ...
and as for 'education'..i choose to read a bit too much into that and see it as sarcasm! (even though the 50/50 it isn't)
and as for this shithole of the northwest of england, don't know what part of 'lanky' you refer too...
EVERYBODY i encounter in this STUPID provincially minded capitalist cUntry, just make me want to KILL myself...and them! (which ever order?)
i want out! (but don't have the $$$ the flee the country and end up in switzerland, germany or even denmark!)
    ...
i was educated at various 'institutions' and they tried SO hard to prepare me for the grind of life/work slave, kinda blew up in their faces..if you catch my drift!
    ...
i'm english to the core, and to the blood!
so to all the world the UK has a habit of offending, WARMONGERING (iraq supergun/CONTRA look it up) and using divide and conquer tactics..
i apologise on behalf of the gvt (of which i have no say, the I.R.A had the right idea) and if it counts, every day i awaken, i hang my head in shame! :(
    ...
you wanted a little 'off-topic' well, there it is!

    Ooh, I see! ;)

The hilariously named Clitheroe and Ramsbottom were considered amongst the top 10 best places to live by Sunday Times last year. There are some really pretty villages, too.... Hurst Green, Barley etc.

I was amazed to find that the place appointed by G4S around my area for getting disabled people back to work is staffed by people who can barely speak English properly! It's a sad commentary on the standard of education nowadays, unfortunately!

    ^^ haha!
    clit-hero and rams-bum!
    ..
there's a quicklime quarry in clitheroe (castle cement) and it's retarded the local population..that's not a slur! the lime seeps into the water supply, the gvt allows it to keep folks in the medical game! (aka: die leaving wealth to no heir/gvt get by default OR piss it way on medical care)
    ...
ramsbottom is just a manchester wannbe, cept they don't have the manpower or artillery to back up their trash-talk!
    ....
and look into 'g4s' while you're at it!
welcome to the new face of BLACKWATER!
see how far their corporate influence stretches...and the dark shit they're involved in!
    ...
and all credibility of any news from the sunday times is instantly flushed down the bog! (tory rag)

No offence but I must say, as a non native english speaker, your posts are super hard to deceiver with all those .... and ^^ and ..., missing captial letters and overuse of exclamation marks which is why I tend to just skip them over.

Blaming others and putting them on your "sh*t-list" instead of taking the advice and format your posts so that everyone can easily read them seems unfair and uncalled for. But thats something a few native english speaker don't seem to get.

On the topic of side funding, well why would I pay for weekly health-, government-, paypal- and ebay-rant's? Assemblergames isn't the magical place it once was. I can't even remember the last time a topic just made my jaw drop because it was so awesome which is something that happend weekly a couple of years ago.

I personally wouldn't mind ads if they were context sensitive. Maybe some nice little retro stores that ship world-wide could advertise their products like custom made RGB cables, replacement parts for consoles like SNES rubber pads, N64 joystick links or box protectors. That sort of advertising. Interesting advertising so to say. Not the standard google adsense spam that gets blocked by adblockers anyway.

Funnily enough, I am a native English speaker & his posts still look like a jumbled mess to me, not to mention the huge annoying signature. He is the first person I have ever blocked on here, & I thought I would block some rude/troll first, if at all.

If you actually read his post you would see that his bad attitude is far worse than is bad English/grammar.

    must be out of touch...
the '^^' are arrows for pointing upwards, but you knew that!
    ...
@ sanni. sorry, what was that? the first paragraph is hard to make out, must be a translator thing!
    ...
and that 'grammar' horse is back!
guys, in TRUE 'ASSEMbler' fashion, you make it about a post style and miss point of why the post is there, for content!
if it helps somebody, who CARES what it looks like? it can actually be read and understood!

    ...
no, i wish one of the responses was true by somebody else (friendly bunch) but it's not looking that way to me!
    ...
if i can read the shit (through translator) that the world chucks out, surely you can read the 'shit' i typed!
formatting? TRY HARDER! (not creative enough)
    ...
@ logi26. not here for fun but for function (help) if i can do it at other places fine in the same style (without conflict of course) then i can do it here!
won't hold tongue on account of the planet if it needs be said?
    ...
and all those pointing finger of 'attitude' try looking in the mirror first! (because so far, this IS the most unfriendly place one has encountered, the ONLY place that gets hung up on post/grammar style and the first place to usually MISS the point entirely!)

Since you're using an online translator it would make complete sense. All you have to do is format your posts better, it is quite jumbled.

Since there's a language barrier for both people who feel they are 'abused' matter of fact is. You're not understanding what others are saying 100%. You two just have to calm down, no one is trying to offend you because you can't speak english properly.

I'm poor and would rather afford food than donating.

Though I consider my contribution to this community a form of donation. A lot of people here spend precious hours messing with codes, gray-hat stuff and helping people with their knowledge, often to the benefit of everyone. I consider, pretentiously maybe, to be one of them and don't feel I'm not "donating" in the end; I'm just not throwing money.

That said if I had a steady job and income, I'd certainly chip in a few 10s. And if you sell an invaluable devkit on the marketplace, a small donation sure would be a nice return of service.

Come on, ASSEMbler, we all know you get the site hosted for free and these donations just help feed your Pachinko addiction and main life goal to own every single copy of Janken Paradise.
