This reminds me of that girl who went sniper at a kindergarten 30 years ago.

She killed several kids, and was also "bored"...

About the japanese being too "passive" I remember this video of some dutch guy stabbing a woman repeately with a regular knife, yet there was like 7 men around and it took them 2-3 minutes (or 50 stabbings, you do the math) to just try to stop the damn psycho.

And the worst part is that they didnt even tried that hard: the cowards just gave him some sissy kicks and the fucker would just tip over, stand up again and keep stabbing the poor lady.

They sound nicer that the canadian mafia:lol:

What the hell is wrong with you?:fresh::fresh:

But that's nothing Japan-specific, like my predecessors said French people often tend to be a little arrogant. That's why they are being teased with that so often, or not? Every country's people have their "generalized weaknesses". ^^

You can find me there too  Not overweight though, but still enjoying unhealthy food that tastes good

Why do i keep on seeing this thread as akiba shopping spree, damn that subliminal trickery.

& hey theres nothing wrong with the french, i went to paris last year & before i went everyone gave me horror stories about how they will hate me because im british. Turned out everyone i met was friendly & polite, if i went somewhere with an attitude then i wouldn't be suprised if people get pissed of at you.

That applies to any country you visit, assholes travel globally

I'm sure the deer in the headlights factor plays in. There's almost always some type of photo shoot or low budget filming going on here (without being roped off in the least). That would be my first instinct as to what I was seeing. Of course, with my luck, it WOULD be a movie, and I would seriously wound would-be attacker, assuming I was in a him or me situation.

French in France are fine. At least they were cool to me, but I was walking around speaking Japanese to the wife the whole time. That might have helped.

And the hits keep coming. Apparently they're saying some of the blood they received from volunteers might be infected. Sorry, no link. Work gal got it off of Bloomberg.

I heard about this. I also heard that there was another guy some time ago who pushed random people in front of trains :eek:h: Imagine just standing there waiting for your train... and suddenly someone pushes you!

That happened in Barcelona's underground. A guy pushed another one to the rails with no reason. He got caught and imprisoned, but it wasn't planned, no vengeance, no fun, nothing.

That's why I always stand on the wall waiting for the train to arrive. I don't trust anybody around me anymore.

Yeah I get your point, but in that case the guys were aware about what was happening, yet their attempts to separate the psycho from the lady were reminiscent of some kid trying to unstuck 2 dogs having sex.

Like, they would push the psycho but it didn't look like they were actually trying that hard at all.

Japanese are pretty famous for not helping...especially women getting groped on trains. This incident was pretty pro active from what I hear. As stated earlier in the thread, he was surrounded. Many people jumped in to help the wounded. One of the EMS workers, in an interview, said that "if they [the otaku] hadn't helped, the situation would have been much worse".

    Walk a mile.

It's group psychology, this happens pretty much everywhere.
Discovery channel i think had a short feature on it, someone pretended to be unconcious on a busy street, and nobody helped. Then the same person lied down on a not so busy street, and people helped instantly.

    Strange but true.

Yeah, this is actually how group psychology became a field of study. It was based on an actual incident that occurred in New York (if I remember rightly without diving for 12 year old Uni text books). People heard 'Help!', they witnessed an attack and yet they failed to respond. It's from this that they later discovered that instead of shouting 'Help!' when attacked, you should always shout 'Fire!'. The reaction from individuals is completely different as they immediately assist.

Remember that when someone attempts to mug you!

Japanese are still famous for minding their own business. I think it's more city mentality than group mentality... and like a third of the country works in Tokyo.
