That device goes the wrong way, it converts hdmi to vga for use with older projects. If their solution can process fast enough to have minimal input lag I'd be interested in it. The "diy" solutions tend to add processing lag and makes makes playing near impossible.

Sorry, but you misunderstood. It's like comparing apples with bananas. You can diy too, however it takes more space and money. It's the most cost effective way to play DC on new TVs with HDMI.
    There is no lag...

If I am checking my own setup it costs a lot of money if you want to do it right.
I have tried a cheap VGA box with a 200 Euro costing VGA to HDMI upscaler and it failed with working.
Right now I have a Toro and Framemeister XRGB Mini, expansive setup but it works like a charm.
So yes, this new solution is a lot cheaper.

Ofcourse I am aware of cheaper solutions than a Framemeister but isguaranteed to work :)

This is excellent.. I will definitely be signing up.

Although will this have the 15khz and 31Khz switch for the games that don`t support VGA (eg. Airforce Delta, Bangai-O, King of Fighters 99 Evolution, Plasma Sword, Psychic Force 2012 etc.) to work with as well, or will those games be working already by default via this new HDMI adaptor?

First of all. I am really excited about this device. I wonder how does this compare with the HDMI Adaptor that OzOnE is making?

    Thank you.

It's not really a fair comparison. This adapter is an all-in-one VGA to HDMI adapter, which requires no console modding. OzOnE's is a device that you solder to the DC's motherboard that takes the raw digital audio and video, then outputs HDMI. In theory, OzOnE's will produce a superior picture, but requires a very involved modification. This adapter should be truly "plug &a play," and is aimed at those who want a decent HDMI solution without a serious modification. Personally, since I have a few Dreamcasts, I'm interested in both adapters. =)

For most of the RGB games, VGA switch trick can work. However some games are RGB only and VGA mode doesn't work. Also it can't upscale from 480i to 480p.

From what I understand from Ozone's project, it works different, it takes the video directly from the DAC as digital and outputs digital. Though It requires some modding on the case and some soldering which is not easy and convenient for most people.
Ours is Analog to Digital, direct plug 'n play, no soldering, no modding. This is the only way to use an external hdmi box without opening and modding your console.
For the image quality, of course direct digital solutions can be better, however the difference can be barely noticeable if you are playing close enough to the display. So if you are playing let's say 7ft from the display, you can't understand it. I don't think there is a serious difference.
Akura doesn't sacrifice in terms of a/v quality and it's convenient to use. You can also use it internally and solder it directly to your console since it's smaller than Toro.

OzOnE's approach is fantastic, but for those who don't want to solder stuff, this is a great product. Also, this looks like it'll be releasing soon, whereas there's no timeframe for OzOnE's product.

75$ for "simply" device it's very big price
if need simply device buy china VGA to HDMI converter
if need HQ picture then need use digital->digital converter
    digital->analog->digital=bad quality
