My attempt at a basic NFO format for releases, the name would obviously change to the group name that we come up with.

I find it lame that people sell things that should have been free, I see that almost everyday with the psp and people charging fees for a M33 install that should have been done for free and requires no particular technical knowledge :/

How many people have access to the 0th Bit? It was just a matter of time. The best part of a secret is being able to tell is to someone else as a secret. Then someone else is someone else, and stuff like this can happen.

I suspect some user with access to the 0th bit may have sold his/her account.

    Is a theory.

Unlikely more someone passed it to a friend, the friend then passed it on/sold it.

Here's a possible Template I made, not the best but it should looks correct.

I just played around with lines

I'm not too proud of the logo, I like drx's one better.

I actually think that by merging all the ideas ppl had so far could lead to a great nfo serisouly.

Is it safe for me to make a share now without worrying about it being sold?

No offense, but "nfo" files like that and others mentioned above just makes this entire community look like a pirate/hacker group.

I personnaly take no offence, someone asked for a NFO so I did a simple one for fun, it's true it makes releases look a bit like pirate/hacker releases, you got a point there. Maybe a simple Readme would be better.

I don't think so in my opinion. Just because pirates use NFO files in the same layout doesn't mean you have to be a pirate to do so.

I agree with lllsondowlll. I beleive that if the freely avaiable stuff of the ASSEMbler's 0th bit is released on Usenet and torrent sites BY THE PEOPLE OF ASSEMblergames it'd reduce the amount of illegally sold material and save a ton of people from scams.

I mean if someone can easily find something on a random torrent site, he won't be fooled by someone trying to sell it to him.

And if such a AG released group is created, just like Kevin itself and diddydonn suggested earlier, a NFO would be great.

Of course it may looks a little like bit like a hacker release, but we would know it's not. I personnally think a .nfo is prettier than a simple readme.txt file.

In my opinion, Kevin should have the last word on how/when/"under which name"/where/why stuff is released.

    Just my humble opinion

    Respect!

With respect, you could say this of all betas that go for sale. This is a different situation and I don't condone people trying to make money from something you good guys released for free. But your statement struck me as applicable in a greater sense.
