I had a new member try to SELL me beta content that can be accessed free of charge via 0th bit topics etc... Titles include: Turok Unreleased Engine for Xbox Juiced (acclaim version) ATV 3 Lawless Halo 1 "beta" (im assuming he would sell the original game and just place in the other XBE's) I know people here on the 0th bit are entitled to this stuff but this is a brand new member trying to make a profit. None the less I think he is trying to buy up 360 dev systems... I think this should be a big alert to certian individuals and members alike who readily made these beta's available. If those members would like to contact me I can forward the message that i got in my inbox. And staff alike may contact me too, it's not a good thing to make profit off other peoples work. Thanks!
I sent you a pm... I did not really say much of what he had to offer. I also did not mention that the titles were eaisly obtainable etc... I just said I was not to interested in his offer but id keep it in mind. At this rate im just keeping it cool. I think someone in the 0th bit has been leaking files & information... I don't think it's just limited to this.

Part of me says... "Out them and roast them over the fires of forum hatery." The other part says... "As with any other item, buying prototypes, betas, etc is buyer beware and its the buyers responsibility to make sure the item isn't dumped, etc." I want to say that its sleazy...but its not like anyone here owns the material...as it belongs to its original copyright holder... No, its still sleazy. Really opportunist...abuses the 0th bit by 1) divulging whats in the 0th bit... 2) Making $ off of what people have been nice enough to release for free.
So I received some more inside information about the guy from other people, and yes he is a opportunist. He sent me a PM and replied to my thread in the marketplace looking for xbox betas etc... He clearly had motive to sell out what was given to him as a gift from another member on top of the stuff on bormans site. The member had the generocity to show him bormans site as it is public to evreyone on the web. It was part of a deal that went sour apparently. So i suppose out of all technicality the 0th bit is safe. But we still have a scammer that presents a problem.
I for one am quite pissed about this person offering the debugs for sale, speacially as it was me and Parris who originally released them in the first place for free However given that they were hosted by Borman (which i appreciate for hosting the files and am not insinuating in anyway this has anything to do with him) and the fact they are in the public domain, there is really not much that can be done I myself have been offered the same debugs for sale or trade from several times from other new members before now, until i pointed out to them that i was the one who released them in the first place, and they soon go running with tails between their legs Unfortunately this is what happens when you give something away for free, there are unscrupulous people who have no qualms about making a quick profit off other peoples work.
Ive taken action and banned him from my site, Ill be posting a stern warning later when I release a game for my birthday. If anyone contacts you trying to sell these, please PM me so I can take action on my site. Thanks.
I agree with Andy & Kev. It's one thing when you have someone who clearly is stumbling around in the dark offering (ironically) material that came from the person(s) he/she is trying to trade with, but entirely another when AG members knowingly try the same shit! I think this guy is a noob, made an incredibly ironic mistake and is a victim of his own innocence. As frustrating as it is, Andy is right on this. He wasn't to know. However, until this thread was produced I have kept quiet, but several active members of AG have knowingly been offering me freely available debug titles in the last few months in an attempt to obtain debug material that Andy and I have not thus far released and that IS frustrating! You will know who you are and STOP offering me shit you know is available elsewhere! If you have got it then perhaps others do too!
