It isn't meant to defend the war only to state that wars that are won don't need defending. The only bad war is one you lose. Might be sad but that is just the way it is.

I'm with you there but the term should be ignorant not stupid. I wish there was a test to measure each persons knowledge of the issues. Then using this assign a point value to that persons vote based on how much of the issues they understand.

Yup, with the US Media in the titillation and distraction business no one in America has much chance of making well informed choices about their government. Maybe well informed choices about Linsey Lohan.

US News is an absolute disgrace, and we're all only as smart as the information we receive. Ain't about being dumb.

If you can't defend it then that's not "the way it is", you're just wilfully ignoring the real reasons why Iraq was invaded.

You want to know why I think Iraq was invaded?

Post 911 the US starting cleaning house. If you were seen a threat to US interests then your days were numbered. At that time I feel strongly that the American people wanted results more than they wanted truth. I've never seen a people so pro-war. I can't imagine what it was like in the days after Pearl Harbor.

The president didn't declare war all on his own. The Democrats played both sides of the fence when the public was pro-war so were they. It was the American people who called for war and the goverment from top to bottom responded. Opinion shifted among the population not because the war was wrong or fought based on lies but because the US might actually lose.

When the war was going badly then the Democrats were fooled by president Bush. Yes the same guy they call an idiot fooled EVERYONE in office and the US people. Come on now who is foolin who?

I'm sorry, but if that's right, it only shows how ignorant the american people are.

Still, he was the one that said "Go". It was wrong to invade iraq withouth UN being asked and told why. Period

The problem with the USA, is that you always want to defend yourselves from everything.

From example, after 58 years the United States Department of Defense made the US Navy to re-establish the 4th Fleet. That's right, i guess Brazil and other south american countries like Argentina are a major threat now...

And don't get me started on Venezuela.

Sorry bud that is just how things are. The victor writes the history books. War anywhere not just in the US has never been about right and wrong the loser is always wrong and the winner always right. If you don't believe me ask the native american Indians.

Sure he said go. So did congress and so did the American people. Now we have a new president and a new administration and everything is well again. "It wasn't us it was that other guy Bush"

I can think of several reasons and none of them are preventing a naval invasion from Brazil. Controlling modern day piracy to enforcement of the drug trade to preventing a nuclear bomb from being smuggled into the US.

    Lol.

There's more than two choices. It's thinking like that that makes
it impossible for change. I voted for another political party, neither
    republican or democrat.

Closing this out before it gets out of hand.

Piracy? So i guess you plan to invade China and all the other Asian countries.

More than 80% of world piracy products came from them. The majority of piracy sold in Brazil comes from Paraguay, that imports from China.

As for Drugs, isn't Colombia "the big one"!? For that the US would not need the 4th Fleet patrolling the Atlantic. The fleet on the Pacific already does that.

The only use for Brazil is to send drugs to europe, and on the last couple of years, the Brazilian Army + Brazilian Federal Police is closing this "drug path". Even if still happening, wouldn't it be a European problem?

Nuclear Bomb?! In South America!?!? All Nuclear development (at least in Brazil) is being towards energy. Even if it was for Nuclear Bombs, it wouldn't be your concern.

I think it's funny when US has the rights to have Nuclear Bombs, Military bases with Bombers and Missiles all over the globe, and nobody can do that as well.

The US Government calls the "bad people" Imperialists, but they are the exact same thing.

Wouldn't be more important for them to think before financing or selling weapons for another country. You did this to a lot of countries, including Iraq. And then you invade them because you know they have the weapons, because you sold to them on the first place. I'm sorry but i can't follow this argument. Its's just Stupid.

The war on iraq, on my view, was to show up "Power", to secure their oil reserves and to show off on CNN.

A good view on the US military view is by watching The Fog of War: Eleven Lessons from the Life of Robert S. McNamara, Path to War, Why We Fight and Control Room. These movies show how the US became a "Military Freak"
