The first of the real loaders has just arrived for the PSP. Lumines has the first dedicated loader (apparently) confirmed to load the game and run it (semi) properly.

Not tried it yet, but my mate is dumping his copy to try.

Anyone confirmed if this is 100% real yet, rather than some forum bullshit?

Interesting. How big are the isos of games - i seem to remember UMD's have a storage capacity of 1.5gb, so how long before sony pull memory stick duos larger than 1gb, so you can't use them for isos?

The raw rip of Lumines is 205MB, but apparently you can get it down to 40MB (I presume ripping out the music and using dummy data like on the DC)

Creating a working hack instead of exploits would be nice for the PSP.

There is a UMD loader that bypasses the update bit apparently. Only thing is, later games may need whats on the new bios to work.

And Lumines did work, no sound, and a bit fast. Still think its crap as well.

If they do that then they'll just be fucking themselves anyway since Sharp / panasonic produce 1 GIG SD cards which are far smaller and better than the memorystick anyway. So they may win in the PSP area but they'll lose in the MP3 arena which is really BIG money in Japan and probably anywhere else at the moment.

It comes to mind that this must be the fastest hacking of any console. Am I wrong?

wait, I don't understand. Does this mean there are going to be pirates already...?
Dammit, this is going to hurt the homebrew scene more than it's even going to help the consumer... I mean, I've bought pirates because I don't have money - which would simply negate the fact of buying a 400 dollar console (yeah, it costs that down here).
And yes, VA, there's this... rom-loader cartridge like those for the GBA where you can put lots of DS games.
I don't recall it being cheap, though.

MSX-M2GN is the product code. They're sold at Sony.com and are available on eBay.

Once you get to level 16+ you have those stupid pop video backgrounds with the lips and all that shit. I am colourblind, so they play havoc with my eye's. Other than that, it's nothing I have not seen/played before, except for the "scanning laser" thing.
