I posted some other info on another thread about this but I need help. A while back I sold two games to an ebay member in spain. I sent them recorded delivery and about 2 weeks later a Paypal dispute appeared. I entered the tracking info and the request was settled. Then he carried out to bug me about not receiving the games and I got so sick of the emails I sent him the money back (it was about £4 inc P+P so I really didn't care.) After that he disappeared for a while. My father then borrowed my eBay account to sell a laptop and what happened? He bought it and then sent me a message stating that he didn't want the laptop he wanted the games. I sent an email to ebay and they told me to block the user. It took me a while to find it but I eventually blocked him. Now he has another account as is buying even more of my stuff. Infact everything which has a buy it now price. I sent him so more emails trying to find out what the problem is and he keeps saying that my refund wasn't good enough and he deserves the games or more money and I keep explaining that he has the money and my games (even if they didn't arrive he's still +1) So I've reported him again but ebay keep sending me automated responses and f*cking customer feedback surveys. How can I stop him? This could go on forever. Weird thing is he has 100% feedback and 500+ of them. It doesn't seem like normal behaviour and of course next to my profile (which isn't perfect due to previous scammers) my case doesn't look good. I really don't want to shut down the account and start again. Not since ebay started IP and Machine logging.
You can't sue these assholes, they are just pathetic! Firstly, go back to eBay and report the harassment. Explain to them that this person has multiple accounts and keeps buying, then sending you threatening emails indicating that he will continue to harass you until he gets whatever he wants. Explain that you have refunded the money via PayPal, but he is clearly not satisfied and wants more, to which he is not entitled. In other words he is hounding you, which means he is breaking a number of rules in the eBay user agreement. Oh yes, they do have rules! Amazingly in this bloody free for all that eBay has become! Next, block the user yourself. Dead easy to do! I have a long list of asshat eBay users that I have banned. Next, go into your set up and allow only established users to bid on your items, which can be done easily. You get several options, such as only UK users, or only users who have a certain amount of feedback or perhaps only those with a verified PayPal account. There are several options. Re-sell the item to someone else. It's just silly pissing around, but sadly there is little you can do legally.
Well I've blocked him and his Alias and relisted again. I think report unpaid item will probably give me my listing fees back. I've emailed him one more time telling him that I won't be responding to anymore messages he sends and I will just continuously hit the report unpaid item button. If I persevere and get through it then I'm sure he'll back off eventually. It's just made me so angry. I've even been tempted to pack up some dog mess and fish and mail it to him but then that wouldn't make me any better.
Probably his feedback has already reduced me to 90% and as a result paypal has started holding all my payments until I post the items and receive good feedback. It won't let me associate the paypal account with another ebay account so i'm just making an issue of replying to his feedback with what's happening and trying to salvage what's left. I've had the account for 7 years and I'll be damned if I give up on it now. People are still buying stuff so I'm sure it won't matter too much.
Wow that's really crap attitude! I don't understand why the guy gives you so much trouble since the original items had little value... Didn't know Ebay bullies existed...
Yes, it really sucks. Don't stoop to his level, though - sending waste produce in the mail is actually illegal. I'm sure you were kidding about that, but still ;-) Actually bother to do the surveys. If they send you one asking to call, do it! Was it someone on here that said they did that and got a £20 voucher for being a valued customer? I would certainly make the effort to talk to eBay on the phone - I know they're twats with scripts, but it's worth a shot. Beyond that, seek legal advice. Your lawyer might be able to write to him requesting he stop or something like that. I dunno, I'm not a lawyer.... but I know a man who is, hehe!
Too much to risk playing with paypal. It sucks that your feedback is gone south and your account has been there 7 years but unless ebay totaly stop and remove all the feedback theres little point in carrying on. Anytime something like this happens again in the future paypal will prob side on a buyers complaint rather then yours.
Well as long as I enforce tracking on all items from now on then my feedback should *theoretically* pick back up. Once the percentage rises then it will go back to normal, I can't be sure that if I start a new account ebay won't apply the same rules to the new account once they realise which PP account is being used. I only have one bank account so I can't use another paypal address either.
This really sucks chunks. Takes the fun out of e-bay if you are unlucky enough to get a malicious buyer, for sure.
A small piece of victory. I opened a unpaid item dispute on one of the items which had been sat there for more than 7 days. The message the member sent to me in the dispute case was abusive and ebay immediately gave him and unpaid item strike and refunded me my seller fees (which were £4). One item down, 2 to go.
Continue with the dispute and don't give up on your account. With the new eBay feedback policy you'll have your feedback restored in a year. In the meantime, restricting your auctions to the UK seems like a good idea. I wouldn't use BIN articles, as with auctions you can monitor who's bidding before auction ends.
Sigh this is a nightmare. I've listed a cell phone for my dad, someone has bought it and after they sent me the paypal payment the receipt told them FOR THEIR OWN SAFETY that their payment will be held and released to ME after 21 days. They've freaked out and recalled the money and now they're accusing me of a scam whereby I take their money and then relist the item. Clearly the guy is a moron. It's out of control, eBay's own security measures are confusing buyers and making things worse.
Block him and all the items you are selling, do not allow people with less than 50feedback to buy/bid on it. Ebay has set it up to where you shit out of luck more so if you're a seller, but even as a buyer you're limited than before. It truly is a risk to sell on ebay and very easy to jump through its loopholes.
As I've mentioned, the guy has 500+ 100% positive feedback (although it appears he doesn't sell stuff so he can't really receive negative.) If I stick 500+ on my restrictions that's a lot of buyers I'm limiting. It will all settle eventually i'm sure but this is a crucial time for me in terms of money, every penny counts and sadly ebay is one of the few places I can sell seeing as I live in the middle of nowhere.
I meant that you keep blocking that account with the high feedback, but incase he goes and creates a new one, limit your sales to zero or very low feedback buyers...
Continue with the unpaid item disputes. He will lose on all of them. When that is over, call them up and dispute all the bad feedback. Call paypal, they have a decent service line. CALL them, let them know. They keep notes. Your ebay account is permanently fucked though, you're going to have to effectively mail first with delivery confirmation every time you sell. If you're trying to sell right now, best bet is to have your dad make his own account and use that. Please tell me who the member was so I can talk to him.
It wasn't an ASSEMbler member but the ebay user is fastest_flash if you wish to add him to your block list. I recommend you all do it, the guy is insane.
