Well, a little one is a bit of excitement but a big one is brown pants time. Just a little one now and then :p. The last one we had down here worth talking about was 7 years ago and even then it was only a 5.

Damn, I feel very bad for you guys. Your country does not deserve this. Is the earth really trying to reconfigure itself or what? I can't imagine what would happen when the poles shift.

I was swimming when the 7.1 hit. Fucking lifeguards (3) blowing there whistles screaming for everyone to get out. Scared the piss out of me, and I didn't feel a thing.

Compasses would lead people in the perfectly wrong direction, for starters...

For anyone that wants an official count, apparently the 7.1 today was the 954th Earthquake since the 9.0 exactly a month ago.

I wonder if we can raise Japan and fit some shock absorbers - as long as it's professionally done and we don't cut the springs to fit, it shouldn't be too bouncy. Might have a slight issue come rush hour, though...

The one earthquake I was in in California was while I was swimming in the local pool. It was awesome - you could see the buildings all shaking, but couldn't feel a thing in the pool. People actually jumped INTO the pool to get away from the shaking.

Not the same as being in the ocean where you have a danger of large waves, though.

It's amazing how many times people keep asking me "when will it stop?". They never will (in our lifetimes)... Japan's always going to have 'quakes.

I am beginning to wonder if it's all just Yakumo going jogging. He never seems to feel them, but we all do...

What worries me is all the stress on the Japan plate must equal to release on the California plate.

Yeah here in Kansas all we get are scary swirling vortexes of high speed air. And extreme lighting, winds, hail. My poor automobile.

Anyway, about the quakes, i don't think theres ever been a major shit your pants quake in Yamaguchi.
