The link of the golden is here.
There's a grey cart too here.

It's pretty uncommon seeing a lot of these carts getting sold on the same period of time...

Only a matter of time before they are being faked.

It's easy to convert a grey to a gold.

That grey one looks like it could be legit but the gold one has fake written all over it.

No sticker and not much residue left over. tells me they removed the label and tried to clean it off. Look at the hole for the switches. Top left corner is cut wrong. surely Nintendo didn't derp that since only 26 of those carts were made. Finally, how come it looks only a month old with very little wear? Surely the owner of such a cart didn't keep it in storage all those years.

I call fakery. Could be wrong but it looks a bit suspicious.

How common are the dev pcbs they use?

If you have a cheap worthless proto, and can make a NWC I think many of these are conversions.

Also it was normal to reuse carts during that period, it's not unusual to see many stickers, etc on them.

I think unless you got one with the official gold cart / NWC label, it is fake.

Well, I was under the impression the pcbs were unique, as the switches set the in game time. No other proto should need those switches. That's why I asked how common the pcbs are - are they used in other games? Or available separately somewhere, like all those ones mark was selling for the Mega drive.?

It'll be nice to see it devalued considerably.

Yeah, Assembler is completely mistaken. The PCB is unique to the NWC, though the gray and gold share a PCB. There are no dev or proto PCBs that share the same design. I've had over 200 NES protos go through my hands over the years, and I owned a NWC gray until yesterday (after successfully selling it for $17,500), so you can trust that I know what I'm talking about.

Doesn't mean they actually got that amount for it. There's that common scam where people conspire (or use multiple profiles) to run the prices up on auctions, then call off the sale after it closes. It drives the percieved value up, despite it never selling.

You can't simply dupe these. Here's specs on the carts.

I seem to remember there was a limitted number of a different kind of facimile board made specificly for the ROM, complete with dip switches. It looked different and internally was different, and the limitted number made specificly were marked as such.

A good test would be to see if it runs on a toploader:

The Muresan sale 100% DID NOT go through. The "winning" bidder immediately reported that their 2 year old child bid by accident, which is obviously a garbage excuse.

Also, the bidding wasn't shilled up. It was bid up by a bunch of scumbags who had no intention of winning.

With huge profit margins too. But it's beyond the average person to do it. I think the crazy perceived prices will end up falling eventually as interest is lost. I think right now things like this are just popular for some reason. But it seems like the bubble will move on eventually.
