http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=62054&item=8111352149&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW Would've posted this in the eBay finds thread, but this is just too great to pass up. So many LE and dev systems.... rayer: rayer: rayer: Too bad it's 100,000. Who knows how much shipping would be. :smt022
I would have to win the lottery this saturday and by tuesday I would have $3.5million in my pocket, well not litterally. But yeh. I'll be praying to god, sacrificing first borns, and lambs, and circumsize a boy so that I have a good chance of winning the $6million lotto.
anyway, I am glad that even HIM doesn't have a complete Nintendo Ultra64 SGI development kit Jollyroger
Wow. The price is up there but when you take into account what he has. You would at least think he would pay for shipping.
Jeez Loueeze, That guy has everything under the sun and then some. I say we wait until the acutions over and then hijack the aircraft carrier they're gonna need to ship it in.
He is never going to get a bid at that price. There are people that will pay big money for collections but 100k is too much for just about anyone to pay at once. He would have a much better chance by breaking up the collection by console type. Such as selling all the Saturn, Famicom/Nes, Dreamcast items together for example.
I wanna have LingJR's babies!! rayer: Seriously, I'm almost suspecting foul play here - he's auctioning off every damn item in his collection that he has posted on his website, and some of those items included in that auction he has for sale seperately in his eBay store and other auctions. Possible hijacking of an account? Regardless of if the thing sells or not, the listing fee has to be huge! But damn do I wish I had a cool hundred grand and a half to snag that...
Not as big as that 7,000,000 pound British aircraft carrier that was auctioned a few months ago :smt043 But this is some damn impressive stuff, if he would've split it up I wouldnt have been able to restrain myself from buying loads :drinkers:
He's not really paying the shipping because he's not offering insurance. No one is paying 100k and shipping without insurance so that's his out. He also has this posted on the auction so who knows what he means. High bidder need to pay the shipping fees (should be OVER 100kg)
The only dude that I've seen on ebay that plays in that kind of money was mb4vikingman.......he bought two cars in amongst his usual mass of buys in a 2 week period...one of the cars was $25,500...... Anyone remember that guy's spending pattern?...he was loaded... He own a set of franchised car lots in the US apparently.....
That's an amazing collection but why is he selling it? maybe the yakuza are rubbing him for some cash :Hangman: I can't see anyone going for that in one go. maybe spliting it would give him a better chance. Yakumo
madhatter: yep, pics are on my website jollyrogerdev.ath.cx wow, he also doesn't have the Dreamcast Set2.1 board hehehe ;-)
Jup thats what i also find odd, if he really wants to sell he will have to split up everything. Not only will the sale be faster but in the end he even may end up with more $$$
OK, I'll answer some questions here. The seller, Barry Ling, is genuine. Yes he has that stuff. Yes he's selling it. And for anyone wondering why he doesn't have the Sophia graphics box, its because I bought it from him. As for why he's selling, maybe we don't have a right to know. However, he did tell me that he needs some money to help someone accomplish her dream. Personally, I think that's really sweet. You all know what collecting is like. You put many years into it (20 in his case). Those things can become sacred, the last thing you'd want to part with. And he has a LOT of very, very rare stuff. He is selling the stuff to raise cash to help someone - to me, that says that maybe a loved one wants to start a business, get a house, or maybe is very ill and needs an operation, or wants to do something before they die. We should be applauding him for making a supreme sacrifice to help someone in need who he obviously cares about a great deal, not questioning him. Obviously, he has a right to ask however much he wants, and it is probably going to be reflected by the amount he needs to raise. It may be a lot of money, but like he said not everything is listed/pictured, and let's face it... YOU go and build up a collection like that, right now. You're paying for the fact its all there, together, and will be sent together. Even if you could find all that stuff, in that condition (BOXED Sophia Saturn... 1st I've seen)... how much extra would postage from all those sellers all around the world be? Don't be so quick to judge and/or put people down, guys!
